"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat
The Jalisco Prosecutor's Office is investigating the armed attack against a rehabilitation center in the municipality of Tlaquepaque that left six people dead.
The events occurred at the intersection of streets 2 and 3 in the La Cofrad铆a neighborhood, where neighbors reported the presence of a group of armed individuals and gunfire.
When police and paramedics arrived at the site, they located five men and a woman with gunshot wounds throughout their bodies, only one of the men showed vital signs and was taken to an aid station where he died minutes later.
It was said that the deceased young woman appeared to be around 18 years old, three of the deceased males were between 20 and 30 years old and the other two between 50 and 60.
Ministerial personnel arrived at the crime scene to carry out the corresponding expert reports, in the place several shell casings of long and short weapons were located. Stretcher bearers from the forensic medical service came to carry out the lifting of the corpses while waiting for them to be officially identified.
Unofficially, it was mentioned that several of the annexed escaped from the place at the time of the incident, this with the intention of getting to safety; For now, it is not known if the victims were inmates or workers at the site, which apparently did not have the corresponding permits for its operation.
An operation is ongoing in the area to identify and arrest those responsible.
