Due to its geographical location, Juárez is a major staging point in the trafficking of drugs to the US. It is also one of the world's most violent cities as drug cartels fight their turf wars there, murdering both gang members and innocent civilians with equal barbarity.
Tijuana is way ahead of Juarez in murders this year. I would bet that Celaya and Zacatecas are pretty far up there as well on a per capita basis.
ReplyDeleteYeah Celaya definitely. But I’d rather go to TJ then Juárez despite the “numbers”
Delete8:47:
DeleteI have learned that if you stay away from the drugs, hookers and the bars that you rarely have a problem in Mexico.
You might be more comfortable with TJ if you are familiar with TJ. I lived in Juarez for several years, so I am comfortable going to Juarez.
Per chance, Juarez is the only city that my dad ever visited in Mexico 70 years ago when he was in the army and stationed at Fort Bliss. It was much smaller and much quieter then. He wasn't terribly impressed with Juarez and couldn't understand why all of the soldiers made a big deal out of it. He went on to fight in Korea and got the opportunity to see a poor country experiencing violence firsthand. This convinced him that he never wanted to step off U.S. soil for the remainder of his life.
The expert on 'How to avoid violence in Mexico' and 'Why to always remain in America'!
Delete9:21 Please thank your dad for his service if he is still around! Like you; but with Juarez, I’ve never witnessed anything nefarious. We used to drink there every weekend in the 1990s and I’ve driven through 15-20 times coming and going to Durango and Mazatlan from El Paso. We use common sense when driving - usually; but we’ve pulled many all nighters driving in Mexico. 🤞
DeleteI agree with Detroit. Granted Im a Mexican American with good Spanish which fascilitated my blending in with the locals. Which is a different experience than a non Mexican or non Spanish speaker. But just like in the US if you stay away from trouble spots youll be good. Not always of course but most of the time

ReplyDeleteThis reporter doesn't know Juarez very well. Zona Centro is quite safe. I was thinking he should have been in Juarez in 2009-2011 when things were really hot and then realized this documentary was probably made in 2013.
ReplyDeleteYou should have read a wierd article by a wierd author.
DeleteHe would type The same bullet killed a Priest, come another day the same bullet killed a farmworker, then the same bullet killed a Gramma, don't know if he was being poetic or serious.
Juarez is a shit hole.
ReplyDeleteQueso

Thanks for the post Sol, flashbacks to the Cds/Linea war. Admins -> Ive been looking for a comprehensive article that details the Zetas/Golfos conflict from the start. supposedly it started with Concord 3's death at the hands of CDG but Im not sure. too much BS floating around on the internet makes it hard to nail down a clear sequence of events. where can I find this chronicle on BB?? Thanks
ReplyDeleteChicago and Baltimore are arguably the most violent cities in the world, as their 1000s of murders are located in pockets of their population! The new normal of increased violence and drug addiction will only reach new heights of a new normal with increased violence and drug addiction! Hey, that's the way it is America and Mexico! The normal of 3 years or 5 years ago are never returning!

DeleteOk big false balls
DeleteHe has little ones, like of a squirrel.
DeleteHe does have big balls, but in his mouth, thats why you cant understan what he is saying
DeleteDon't worry about it...
Deletesoon city hall comes and condemns whatever survives and sells the land for free to their friendly developers armed with billion dollar federal subsidies to gentrificate the target areas and make sure the rabble never comes back to live there for free and food stamps.
LOL at all the little brain slope heads responding! Low Iq growing in Mexico and america causes the violence problem! Fact1
DeleteThe economic move to the intelligent nations is already underway and once the US$ reserve currency is totally ended so will low IQ america!
DeleteNo truth to that at all...After doing the research i see you actually spit opinion/b.s. or straight lies to support what is probably a racist agenda
Delete8:45 Exactly.
DeleteIsn't this location also a place of an enormous amount of Femicides?
ReplyDeleteYep only second to Culiacan
DeleteWow, this pIace is second?? That's scary. I have to read up on Culiacan. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteJuarez is on the top ten, but not the deadliest. Since homicides there have specific targets, not a generalized scheme. It is measured by number of homicides per every 100,000 inhabitants. Juarez is #5 and as a country Mexico is # 13, based on 2022 data. #1 Tijuana, #2 Acapulco, #3 Caracas, Venezuela, #4 Cd. Victoria Tamaulipas, #5 Juarez, #6 Irapuato... Source: statista.com

DeleteAccording to State department blog.
