Almost simultaneously two men were shot to death by groups of gunmen who persecuted them, the events occurred this Friday in the western and eastern areas of the city of Uruapan.
While the municipal president of Uruapan, Ignacio Campos Equihua, asks the media not to disclose the robberies and assaults that occur daily, the majority of citizens say they live in fear, according to a recent survey by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).
The first case occurred shortly after 11:00 a.m. on the corner of Camino Viejo a Tejerías and Cerezo streets, in the Los Laureles neighborhood, to the east, where gunmen on motorcycles caught up with the passengers of a grey Honda vehicle and shot at them on several occasions. The driver died instantly, while his passenger was injured.
The second case was recorded on the private street of Primero de Mayo, in the San Juan Evangelista neighborhood, where a man was shot to death by unknown assailants who followed him into his house.
