CBP Seizes Methamphetamine Worth $11.9 Million at Del Rio Port of Entry

Packages containing 1,337 pounds of methamphetamine were seized by CBP officers at the Del Rio Port of Entry.

In the largest methamphetamine seizure in port history, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Field Operations (OFO) officers at Del Rio Port of Entry seized methamphetamine valued at $11.9 million within a tractor-trailer.

“This is a massive seizure of methamphetamine, it is the largest in the history of the port and it reflects the steadfast commitment of our officers to the CBP border security mission and their effective application of technology, training, and experience,” said Port Director Liliana Flores, Del Rio Port of Entry.

The seizure occurred on Monday, Sept. 5, 2022, at the Del Rio International Bridge when a CBP officer referred a 2016 Kenworth tractor hauling a shipment of diesel tank reservoir containers for a secondary inspection. The tractor-trailer was referred for a canine and non-intrusive inspection system examination, resulting in the discovery of 320 packages containing 1,337 pounds of alleged methamphetamine within the shipment. The narcotics had an estimated street value of $11.9 million.

CBP seized the narcotics. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations (ICE-HSI) special agents are investigating the seizure.

    1. Right here, there is 0, just cause they tried to move weight across means nothing, I even said in the other comment it makes no sense to traffic in Coahuila cause the 2 border crossings are small and you will get caught lol example right here, they had some bum try to cross it for them but there is 0 cartels here, show me one video of sicarios in Coahuila right now

    2. CDN paid some clown from Tamaulipas to try and cross it here and look what happened, they try to sell drugs here and push weight but when I say there is no cartels in Coahuila I mean there is literally no sicarios or convoys or anything like that, they can’t even come here the fuerza Coahuila and military will have them running

    6. Every true cartel moving signficant weight moves product through every busy port on the US border, to include desert crossings (usually mota). Rather they line up protection is unlikely because of the volume of trucks stacked up - the probability of a successful pass is strong; plus they keep the local plaza leaders from searching their loads as carefully and their profit margins are obviously better when no piso is paid.

    7. 12:12. That is laughable what you wrote! Piedras Negras y Ciudad Acuña are running the politics, enforcement, Hacienda etc.
Did you make up this shit or read some bullshit somewhere?
There isn’t an estado on la frontera that isn’t highly influenced by organized crime.

    8. 12:09; 👌 Tell that to the civilians who have been navigating the opposing cartels in Torreon and Gomez de Palacio - oh and let’s not also forget Piedras Negra and Ciudad Acuña.

Some people live in a bubble. This guy is living in a bubble. The Del Rio sector is the second highest in number of persons trafficked by the numbers caught. The FBI, DEA and the DHS all state that CJNG is responsible for the highest percentage of people trafficked in the Del Rio sector. In 2021, the Del Rio sector had a record year for narcotics seizures. According to the DEA, FBI and DHS, CDN, CDS and CJNG are all active on the border between Coahuila and Texas. This guy refuses even to read what these organizations have to say.
According to this guy, there are no cartels in Coahuila. He doesn't come across as an ELMO chayotero. He seems to be some guy drinking ELMO's Kool-Aid. Either that, or he's taking too much Prozac. He wants to see video evidence of cartels in action before he believes that cartels exist in Coahuila. He doesn't understand that cartels don't make videos of their drug smuggling operations to post on the internet.
I am tired of trying to educate him. I have learned that there is no cure for ignorance. I am sure you both will learn this as well.

    10. @4:42 you talking to someone who lives in acuña clown 🤣 you can’t tell me there is cartels here or in piedras, sure they try to get bums move their weight thru here but you can’t tell me there is sicarios patrolling the streets or shoot outs like there is in other states, go be tough online somewhere else

    1. None of that. Street value means if the 1,337 lbs were sold as individual doses that would be the gross revenue generated. No need for hyperbole, just do your job

    2. They added and extra 10mil to that, it's only 1k to 1500 a pound in the border city's

      Delete
    3. 1k per pound in border city. Cartels would do so much better with a alliances and truces and control the production and distribution.

    4. 3k per kilo in GA

    5. Exactly 10:14. Meth (and other commodities) distributed along the border is a lost cost payment for safe houses, low cost wage for labor and transportation; and the mothlerloads are no went to distribution hubs like San Antonio, ATL, Chicago, St Louis, and obviously California with routes to more rural metros (including Canada) where the cost per kilo demands a far superior price and is liquidated fast to return proceeds to Mexico.
Anyone thinking that weight movers in Mexico are waiting on their investments to be returned after thousands of retail sales where confiscations of cash and product happen more frequently; needs to study a little bit about present value of money and time value of money.
True, distributors may advance on credit they hold their local distributors to; but the distributors are giving credit and taking the enforcement, credit, and risk of death if the timing doesn’t enable them to deliver proceeds to the large distributors.
I live near Ojinajua (on US side) and have watched this model since the 80s from Matamoros to Juarez.

  7. These narcos are not only dumb but they most of all are just far too lazy. They ALWAYS het caught be cause they try to move too large quantities in one move, loads often consisting mainly of that too large quantity. This both makes it MUCH more likely that those loads will get caught, cause it makes all kinds of detection more likely as well (ranging from random chances of finding the stuff when a few boxes are inspected to dogs picking up on the scent to modern scanning techniques that can look through complete truck loads in one fell swoop) and also makes losses enormous at the very same time!
