"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat
Following operations by the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) in this municipality, elements were attacked by armed civilians and repelled the attack. A Civil Guard officer was wounded and hospitalized. A heavy deployment was also made and a male person was detained who was carrying a firearm.
The Civil Guards were on crime deterrence patrols when they were suddenly fired upon by civilians in two vehicles. The officers repelled the attack and the assailants fled. One of the officers was injured and was taken for medical attention.
A search and location operation was activated and a male was captured on board an Italika motorcycle, who was in possession of a .9 millimeter caliber firearm. It will now be up to the competent authorities to determine the probable responsibility of the accused in the aggression against police personnel.
