The former mayor of Iguala and his wife María de los Ángeles Pineda were arrested in November 2014. |
A federal judge based in Matamoros, Tamaulipas acquitted the former municipal president of Iguala, Guerrero, José Luis Abarca of the disappearance of the 43 normalistas from Ayotzinapa, estimating that there is no evidence of his full responsibility.
According to information from API Guerrero, Luis Argüelles, Abarca's lawyer, considers that although this does not imply his freedom, it is further proof that he has been singled out "unfairly." With the judge's decision, Abarca Velázquez was acquitted of the criminal cases of kidnapping and organized crime related to the disappearance of the normalistas.
The former PRD mayor was arrested in November 2014 along with his wife, María de los Ángeles Pineda, after they remained at large for more than a month and a half; Abarca was taken to the Federal Center for Social Readaptation no. 1 Almoloya, El Altiplano designated for the crimes of kidnapping and organized crime, related to the disappearance of the normalistas.
The litigant insisted that the evidence against the former mayor and his wife was fabricated by the Guerrero Prosecutor's Office and the then Attorney General's Office. The acquittal of the former mayor linked to the Iguala case does not imply his freedom, since he has another complaint against him; He is accused of the murder of the leader of the Unidad Popular organization, Arturo Hernández Cardona, in June 2013.
43 Disappearead Normalistas
During the night of September 26 and the morning of September 27, 2014, 43 students from the Ayotzinapa Rural Normal School in Iguala, Guerrero were victims of forced disappearance.According to the investigation initiated by the former PGR, José Luis Abarca and his wife María de los Ángeles Pineda ordered the attack and disappearance of the 43 normalistas from Ayotzinapa, so that they would not “sabotage” the Pineda work report.
In August of this year, the Report of the Presidency of the Commission for Truth and Access to Justice of the Ayotzinapa case of the federal government on the 43 disappeared normalistas, 83 arrest warrants were issued.
The Second Judge of Federal Criminal Proceedings in the State of Mexico, based in Toluca, issued 83 arrest warrants against 20 military commanders and troop personnel from the 27th and 41st battalions in the city of Iguala, as well as five administrative and judicial authorities from the state of Guerrero; 26 police officers from Huitzuco; six from Iguala and one from Cocula; plus 11 state police from Guerrero and 14 members of the Guerreros Unidos criminal group.

Unbelievable how the judge deemed insufficient evidence against the former Mayor and wife, I still remember reading the article, when it was fresh.
ReplyDeleteThe students were going to do a peace full protest, against an event that that the Mayor and wife were having. As I recall, the Mayor and wife had connections with, curupt government officials , they made the calls, to put this matter into motion, and as history follows, all 43 disappeared just like that, only in Mexico, a crooked sets them freeee.
The students were disgusting communist agitators and they got what they deserved. Nothing better in life than killing reds.

DeleteSo when students protest at events, let's kill them.?
They were not communist Russians.
They were law abiding students.
What about the American Republicans who are communist for the wealthy only?
Delete2:26 I'm all for returning to a Feudal system. Republics and democracies are disgusting judeo masonic lies. If the elite refuse to pick up arms and die in combat then they become serfs who should be extorted like the rest of the industrialized peasants that are only cowards overpopulating the planet.
Delete2:42 Very cool that you are so passionate about something, this isn't the place for political rants though is it
DeleteThe socialist “students” hijack busses by force and should be considered criminals or criminals.
DeleteHowever, they did not deserve to die and be incinerated.
As for the mayor, justice will find him when he least expects it.

The students shouldn’t have been killed but they were not peaceful. Remember they would also destroy local businesses and public property. They killed a Pemex worker too in a fire. His name was Gonzalo.
DeleteThere's no doubt that that Abarca and his sleazy wife were involved in organized crime, murder, corruption etc. But it is inherently wrong to hold anyone in pretrial detention for eight years. If they couldn't have brought him to trial in a timely manner in one of his cases, he should have been released from custody.

Nice. Nothing like exterminating those commie loser students.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how people flap their mouths and talk about dead students, that can't defend themselves.
DeleteUnbelievable…I thought they had them dead to rights for ordering the hit. Terrible outcome
ReplyDeleteThe prosecutor stated that he is considering an appeal, so this may not be the end of the matter.
ReplyDeleteI don’t understand why someone related to the Pineda Villa family will have a government position.
