| The Police Chief for Valparaiso, Juvenal Torres Domínguez, has been missing since Saturday, October 1, 2022. |
It is presumed that the police chief was intercepted on Saturday, October 1, in the El Pedegral neighborhood, Circón street, by a group of armed subjects aboard a gray Dodge Nitro.
"Aerial surveys have been carried out with the helicopter of the Ministry of Public Security and state authorities have established coordination with personnel from the Ministry of National Defense and the National Guard, in order to carry out ground surveys," the institution said.
He also mentioned that intelligence and field work is being carried out to locate the police chief, who, according to reports, was identified as Juvenal Torres Domínguez. “The actions are in process, so the secrecy of the investigation is maintained,” they pointed out.
Valparaíso is located in the border area with Durango, Nayarit and Jalisco, making it a key place for members of criminal groups , since the presence of the Sinaloa Cartel and Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG) has been detected.
Thus, the drug war between antagonistic criminal cells has made Zacatecas the deadliest state for Public Security agents, who have lost their lives on multiple occasions. On September 28, six municipal policemen from Calera de Víctor Rosales, Zacatecas, were assassinated.
