Massacre At Bar: 12 Killed By Gunmen In Irapuato, Guanajuato

By "El Huaso" for Borderland Beat

Armed gunmen stormed into a bar, killing twelve employees and customers around 8 p.m. this afternoon in the December 12th neighborhood of Irapuato, Guanajuato. Local news is reporting that six women and six men were killed as well as three others injured. Photos of the event show the carnage inside, where the gunmen opened fire on dozens of partiers.

Local security expert David Saucedo told Borderland Beat that bars, restaurants, and other similar businesses are often targeted by criminal groups for selling or allowing the sale of drugs supplied by a rival organization.

The gunmen did not leave a message or state their allegiance, which sometimes happens when businesses are attacked. According to El Sol de Mexico, the armed attackers fled the scene in two vehicles after the attack.

The attack happened at the Bar Texana, on 773 Calle Jamaica. Some news sources have spelled this as 'Tejana', and La Silla Rota reported that the bar was also known as "El Pantano". There have been many attacks on businesses and people on Calle Jamaica over the last few years.

No criminal groups have so far claimed the attack.

I haven't watched TV in nearly 30 years. Russian soldiers have uploaded video showing destroyed Ukrainian residential areas due to cruise missiles and shelling. With geolocating technology their content was confirmed.

    4. Oh no, here we go! An article on a bar massacre in Irapuato and we are getting challenged about safety in the United States. No one is saying here that the USA is safe. So frustrating

He specifically left to find a better life in South America since he was being harassed to the point of having his kids taken away. For crying out loud, he fled! What exactly don't you understand about that?

    1. Yes. If this had happened in the U.S. the killers would have been called mentally insane.
Since it's Mexico they are simply called killers.

    2. Yeah, because over here it's done for some reason that has nothing to do with anyone. The only thing the victims did was go to school, or church or shopping. In Mexico the business is usually tied to one cartel or another, selling drugs or making money for them in other forms. That's why the rival cartel goes in and do what they do. It's a war they got going on for territory and money. Not saying it's right, just that there's a big difference between here and there

  8. Another business that did not want to pay piso, to the criminals.
If only the people in the bar, had weapons they would be able to even out the firefight.
Instead easy targets for unarmed victims.

  9. On instances like this one criminals kill more innocent people than enemies. The only way to stop this none senses is to release Chapo Guzmán. He was the only real boss. Mayo Zambada was the second good boss.

    1. @1:37 go to Ciudad Juarez with a JGL #701 hat and start saying puro Sinaloa. I'm 100% sure you'll be reminded of all the benevolent actions your beloved Chapo did, don't forget to buy life insurance for your boyfriend before you go

    3. @3:10 pm.

  10. @2:23 pm I was in Ciudad Juárez back in 2008 and 2009. I remember those pussies from la Línea running around like rats because Chapo was cleaning house in that area. They will shoot anything that will moved because they were all afraid of Papi Chapos people. They were so scared the the bosses left town for their safety. I was there watching.
