"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

Video translation is as follows:

Female Host: Sadly, we are no longer surprised, but we are very furious about these matters. An active municipal police officer lead a gang of thieves in Zapopan, Jalisco. Among the members was the brother of this policeman and a woman. A little more than a month later they hit their last lick.

Gerardo Cedano: These are images from September 15 in the Sauz neighborhood. A group of individuals commit their third and what will be their last robbery of a department store. As soon as they enter the store, they threaten the employees and security personnel. And take the cell phones from the counter, which together amount to about eight hundred and eighty thousand pesos.

After the robbery the subjects flee and a few blocks away they give the merchandise to their accomplices. In order to avoid that in case of being arrested, the robbery would be discovered. Minutes later they meet at this house in the Parques de Santa Maria subdivision where they were checking the merchandise and where they were arrested. Since the robbery began they were being monitored by video surveillance cameras.

The criminals are credited with three robberies for amounts exceeding half a million pesos each. On June 25 in the Del Fresno neighborhood with an amount of 592 thousand pesos. On August 23 in the Del Fresno neighborhood with an amount of 592 thousand pesos. And on September 15 in the El Sauz neighborhood for a total of 878,000 pesos.

The arrested are Shelby Yoshinoy "V", an active policeman in Zapopan and alleged leader of the organization. In addition to Helmer Jared "V", a criminalistics student. Along with them are Ricardo Raziel "E", Diego Iván, Jonathan Isaías, Diego Jaír, Omar Antonio, Rafael "M", and Vanessa Jazmín.

They were all criminally charged. While the Zapopan policeman Shelby Yoshinoy was initiated an administrative process to separate him from office and discharge him once he is sentenced. The authorities broadcast the video in the hopes that more people could recognize and denounce them.

    1. This is the thing: Mexico is a like a body infested with tumors. It’s like a body with metastasis. And people dream that a possible decriminalizitaion of drugs would change something, as if all the sicarios spread around the country who have made abominable acts that would horrify even the Aztecs would just start living a normal life if drugs were decriminalized. The sad truth is that these people need to be massacred, all of them. They are cancers to uproot
