"Ivan" for Borderland Beat
The Cessna light aircraft that was seized on Monday in Mazatlán came from South America and was carrying 469 kilos of cocaine, according to the Secretary of National Defense, Luis Cresencio Sandoval.
During Tuesday's morning conference, the Secretary of Defense explained that two people were detained in the aircraft with license plates N108NK, "This was a follow-up of an illicit flight that departed from South America. Through the coordination we have with the different countries of Central and South America, we were able to track it and it arrived in Mazatlán, where it was secured... the whole system participated, the Air Force, the Army and the National Guard, to achieve this arrest".
He added that the economic impact of preventing the drug from being sold was 111.1 million pesos.
The seizure took place at Mazatlan International Airport during the early hours of yesterday, Monday.
AMLO may say tough things about the DEA and American agents but I think there are lots of coordination and cooperation between the Mexican military and DEA.Lots of seizures .
