Diana Carolina Costilla Villanueva, Mayor Of Juan R Escudero, Guerrero, Ambushed By Gunmen

The mayor of Juan R Escudero, Diana Carolina Costilla Villanueva, was ambushed by gunmen this morning while traveling with her convoy in Central Guerrero. She survived, but two police officers were injured, according to a press release from the Attorney General's Office of the state of Guerrero.

The statement says that her convoy received gunfire around 1:25 a.m. while traveling on the Tierra Colorada-Ayutla highway 95 after leaving the small town of La Palma on the way to Juan R Escudero. Officials believe the shooters were up in the hills.

Sucesos en Linea reported that the mayor traveled in a red pickup with 3 others, escorted by a police vehicle with six officers. The two injured Preventative Police Officers are identified as Janeth "N" and Alejandro "N".

    Twitter accounts are stating the Government are launching huge operations against CDN in Nuevo Laredo. 200+ Special Operations forces arrived last night in N.Laredo Airport.

    As of today 1 soldier dead, 8 wounded.
    CDN has lost 20+ sicarios.

    10:14 aprende antes de habrir el osico, al mayo le dicen "el M grande" y a Don Mencho le dicen "el de la M grande" parecidos pero no es lo mismo, pero lla ultimamente al mayo le dicen el M vieja
