José Manuel "P", brother of Juan Carlos "P", alias "El CR", was arrested in Chiquilistlán. He is alleged to be the alleged regional leader of the Jalisco Cartel - New Generation in the municipalities of Tapalpa and its surroundings, and is also accused by the Secretary of National Defense of being allegedly responsible for the deprivation of liberty of Colonel José Isidro Grimaldo Muñoz.
Federal sources confirmed to El Occidental, the arrest occurred last Friday in the municipality of Chiquilistlan, in the Sierra de Amula region, 128 kilometers from the Guadalajara Metropolitan Zone.
The arrest was allegedly made by Mexican Army personnel, without any confrontation in the area.
Along with José Manuel P., another subject was arrested who, according to federal sources, was a member of the same criminal cell.
They were caught in possession of an undetermined amount of cartridges and magazines for the exclusive use of the Armed Forces.
After their capture, both were handed over to the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office and charged with the crime of violation of the Federal Firearms and Explosives Law.
The defense of both requested the Constitutional term of 144 hours, so this weekend it will be determined whether they will be sentenced to trial or not.
Juan Carlos "El CR", was accused on December 16, 2022, by the Secretary of National Defense, of being allegedly responsible for the deprivation of liberty of Colonel José Isidro Grimaldo Muñoz, which occurred on December 10, 2022, after vacationing in a cabin in Tapalpa.
"In a cowardly act, he was subjected to violence by a group of delinquents of the Jalisco Cartel - New Generation, headed by the regional chief in Tapalpa, Jalisco, who goes by the alias of "El CR" and whose identity and places he frequents are known. With the data we have been able to establish a defined perimeter within which Colonel Grimaldo has most likely been transferred," said the military commander in a conference held on December 16, in the facilities of the 15th Military Zone.
According to Crisóforo Martínez Parra, commander of the XV Military Zone, that day, the colonel was in a rented cabin in that municipality and upon leaving it, a traffic incident occurred, in which he was intercepted by occupants of two vehicles, who forced him to get out of his vehicle and then took him away.
Previously, on December 14, the white Mini Cooper car with Mexico State plates that Grimaldo Muñoz was driving was found in an open road in the La Guadalupana neighborhood in Tonala, with a broken rear window.
José Isidro Grimaldo Muñoz, is a Cavalry Colonel with a General Staff Diploma, Commander of the 16th Motorized Cavalry Regiment based in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas.
Hopefully the military make this guy pay for his crimes.
