"HEARST" for Borderland Beat
The news publication Contralinea released images from seven old military intelligence documents which cover the Sinaloa Cartel (Cártel de Sinaloa, CDS).
It's important to emphasize that all of these documents, even the ones produced in 2022, depict outdated information. It would be a mistake to believe this information reflects the current state of CDS.
This is part 2 of covering these seven documents. To see part 1, please click here.
Document 05: Conflict between CDS Cells
Date Prepared: 2020/2021*
Conflict between CDS cells in Culiacan, Sinaloa
• Los Rusos, led by Miguel Angel Gaxiola Quintero (a) El Ruso, and Los Ninis, under the command of Nestor Isidro Perez Salas (a) El Nini, operate in the municipality.
• El Ruso is part of Ismael Zambada García (a) El Mayo Zambada's security detail; while El Nini is head of security for Los Chapitos, which is headed by Iván Archivaldo Guzman Salazar.
• The rivalry between Los Rusos and Los Ninis began on Nov 19, 2015, when the former cell “paddled” 11 municipal police officers who protect Los Chapitos for extorting civilians.
• Since then, both groups have been fighting for control over the production and sale of synthetic drugs in Culiacán; although the conflict does not escalate to the top of the CDS factions.
• The greatest violent expression was on March 06, when they clashed in the Loma de Rodriguera neighborhood in Culiacán.
• Martín Antonio Acosta Cázarez (a) Martón, operator of Los Ninis, was killed and four of his members were arrested when they tried to finish off a wounded member of Los Rusos in the hospital.
• Their hostility is the main cause of violence in Culiacán, which in the year ranks as the most violent municipality in the state with 56 HVDOs, ranking 14th highest nationally.
Los Ninis
• They operate as El Chapito's (Ivan’s) security force.
• The group is made up of young men between 20 and 35 years of age, with a penchant for violence.
• They participated in the attack on the Army (SEDENA), resulting in five dead and 10 injured (Sept. 30, 2016) and the actions to free Ovidio Guzmán (Oct. 17, 2019).
• They also compete with members of Los Guanos.
• They have a presence in downtown Culiacán.
Los Rusos
• They are part of Zambada García's security force.
• They act with less prominence, but with a high level of violence.
• They operate in eight neighborhoods and two districts in the north of Culiacán.
Considerations
• There is a prevailing risk of increased violence due to their competition for dominance in the production of crystal meth and fentanyl.
• Another front of the war between cells of El Mayo and Los Chapitoscan be seen in Salvador Alvarado in the Evora region, where Los Chapitos broke with Los Cholos (at the beginning of Feb. 2020) under the command of Orso Ivan Gastelum, imprisoned in CEFERESO 1, who is said to receive support from Los Mayos.
• El Mayo Zambada employs a strategy of conciliation with Los Chapitos and unity within CDS, with the objective of positioning his faction as hegemonic.

Are these documents useful?
As many have pointed out, these documents show some very old information. So what’s the point of translating and highlighting them?
Because they can be mined for names and pictures to fill in our current charts.
As an example, these documents enable us to update old organization charts, such as Ivan’s Top Guys from this previous story, with faces and names as the understanding of the organization develops.
In the document Critical Areas, there is a photo of El Titan, the leader of Mazatlan, which has never been seen before. Or if it's been seen before, it's certainly been well hidden from the internet nowadays.
The same document also verifies, with federal intelligence, a rumored photo of R1. The same document also verifies, with federal intelligence, a rumored photo of R1. This enables us to revise and update the chart of the top lieutenants of Ivan Archivaldo and Jesus Alfredo.
The documents also depict a new photo of Mayito Flaco, the son of El Mayo and his current successor. There were only three known images of Flaco prior.
The documents also depict a new photo of Mayito Flaco, the son of El Mayo and his current successor. The resolution is terrible. There were only three known images of Flaco prior.
*Note: The government documents consistently refer to the Cártel de Sinaloa (CDS) as Cartel del Pacifico, which is just another, less commonly used name for CDS. In order to avoid confusion, all instances of Pacifico have been switched to CDS.
El Nini trying to look manly with that 🧔♂️ beard. Lame looks like he’s Amish.
ReplyDeleteSemper Fi
En lo que te andas fijando! Omaigaaa!
Delete@1:59 he may look lame but that lame is somebody you ain’t 🤣
Delete@5.04 Errr...Yes? But I think he problably wakes up every morning grateful that he aint a hunted bully boy with a rapidly decreasing life expectancy and a beard like a glued on merkin.
Delete5:04 yeah a walking dead man
Deleteel rusos name is wrong he real name is alejandro
ReplyDeleteOk. But I just translated the intelligence doc. So. Not sure what you want me to do about that.

DeletePersonally I believe Ivan is no more than 50 miles from Culiacan. That his best chance of survival. In the mountains, too hard to bring in Xtra Sicarios if the government launched a major operation.
ReplyDeleteThat's my opinion.
Exactly he has to be close enough for back up. I think probably closer than 50 miles.
Delete2:47 its not about having an extra hard time bringing sicarios, its more about he not been about the sierra life, he has probably never in his life spent more than 3 days in the sierra, chapo been from la sierra couldnt stay away from the cities, now imagine how Ivan feels?
Delete4:55 if he truely hasn't learned to live in the Sierra he's done
Delete5:29 exactly my point, he is done, he is just a pawn for the government to use when they need to
DeleteMust be pre-2018 for Ramon “Gato” Gallardo Campista to be listed. I didn’t realize he was a BLO member. I thought he was out of the game by the time he was murdered in 2018, but apparently he was still running things in parts of San Ignacio.
ReplyDeleteIsn’t that the guy they found in la Cruz
DeleteAsí es
DeleteAsí es
DeleteAllegedly "El gabito y/o 80" controls Mazatlan.
ReplyDeleteNah. That's old intelligence. It's El 40 in charge now.
DeleteNah. New corridos still suggest Gabito is in charge
DeleteOh. Interesting. People do say that Gabito is giving orders to Sonora groups from Mazatlan. Let me look into this some more. Did he ever leave, do you think? Is 40 in charge of somewhere else?
DeleteI'll post the link for you Hearst
Delete4:49 🤣🤣🤣 here we go with the corridos, remember chapos corrido says he can stop earth from spinning if he wants to😂😂😂
DeleteHe's trolling you hearst, gabitos newer corridos only mention his control over el Rosario and his loyalty for los guzman
DeleteYeah el señorón gabito is still in charge
Delete5:10 Gabito(80)w/ his brother Casco(81) are in charge of El Rosario, Concordia and Escuinapa. Titan(40) runs Mazatlan
DeleteDEA mexico chief quietly removed after drug lawyers ties
ReplyDeleteReally liking this series, especially for us non Spanish speakers.
ReplyDeleteAlso small thing, on the last Mayito Flaco photo it still contains the old text that you used for El Titan
Thank you, Seregalin. Fixing now. Really appreciate it.
DeleteI was the one that insisted to put El Titan or El 40 as plaza boss of Mazatlan. Can someone confirm is El Titan is plaza boss of Mazatlan ? Gabito El 80 and his brother El 81 from my understanting are in Concordia, El rosario
ReplyDelete40 runs mazatlan directly from el panu, and yes gabito runs el rosario and el casco concordia
DeleteI always type this info. Ovidio use to hide in Cacalotan. Facts. Kasco and Gabito protected him there. They would fly drones when they were there. I visit that area twice a month. While chillin I would notice some people out of place. I think they were people from the US. Lowkey. Gabito eats at Tanas. Off of the 15 going towards Mazatlan
DeleteThis comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
Delete40 runs Mazatlan directly from ivan. Gabito w/the help of el Casco runs Rosario, Concordia and Escuinapa directly from el Panu.
DeleteSomeone posted new photos of el Mayo on tiktok
ReplyDelete@Hearst are you planning to make a similar top lieutenants from the mayo flaco / mz side?
ReplyDeleteI am planning on it. Just dealing with the infinite frustration of being unable to find any photos or real names to go with these aliases.
DeleteAlso there is a handful of guys who are believed to be important but its completely unclear what they do within the organization.
No doubt about that Cartel Sinaloa and CJNG are the most dangerous and powerful criminal organisations in the world
ReplyDeleteThis is old since rusos are now in mexicali and san luis rc fighting chapito salazars
ReplyDeleteI genuinely think I just can't cover old intelligence anymore because even if I say that it's old as much as I can, a bunch of you guys will still comment "letting me know" it's old.
