"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat
He defended his ranch in Villaldama from a narco-cell, which had taken over his property to hide from Fuerza Civil. It cost the lives of cattle rancher Gustavo L. and one of his workers, whose bodies were burned.
The homicide of the 85 year-old man, the renowned promoter of the Beefmaster cattle breed and former hardware businessman, who lived in Colonia Lomas del Valle, in San Pedro, is part of a series of recent bloody events in the rural area of the State of Nuevo Leon.
Last night, although the State Prosecutor's Office was still waiting for DNA tests, family, friends and relatives indicated that Don Gustavo was one of the two burned persons found last Saturday at his ranch La Rumorosa.
Ministerial agents were able to arrest one of the alleged perpetrators of the crime, identified as Felipe de Jesús, 50 years old.
Sources close to the case revealed that there is another person arrested for the murder and for the confrontation with the drug group on January 2 in Salinas Victoria, who said his name was Elvis Edgardo, 32 years old.
According to reports, after the confrontation that left three police officers and two gunmen dead, the cell fled and dispersed.
Part of the group arrived at the ranch on the same Monday and subdued the guard, his wife and children, who were tied up on the property.
A family contact said Gustavo used to go to his ranch every Thursday.
On this occasion, however, he was received by the criminals and, although he tried to defend his workers' lives, his own and the ranch, he was subdued and killed together with one of his workers, who was driving Gustavo's Ranger truck.
The next day, the gunmen traveled in the stolen vehicle towards Villaldama, but ran into police officers and, after a confrontation, they overturned and five were killed on the Colombia Highway.

ReplyDeleteYeeesss Sir! Beat me to it. Hope these POS criminals burn slow, in HELL!
Delete10:49 or maybe we should kidnap them, tie them to a tree naked with honey all over them, then wait for the great spirit of mother earth to envelope Philip's carcass
DeleteExactly what I was thinking
DeleteThere are no shrines dedicated to Don Alejo in Mexico

Deletehope they kill those hijos de puta
ReplyDeleteMientras el gobernador los proteja va estar dificil.
DeletePara mi que maten a todos los familiares de esas escorias
DeleteThe Rancher was out in the open Country, should have had weapons, for self defense.
ReplyDeleteHim and his partner could of done it, then bury those criminals, no one would know they were missing.
Except whoever sent them in the first place
Delete11:47 I maybe wrong but citizens can legally carry shotguns, rifles and handguns of certain calibers on their private property if said property is fenced.
DeleteWhat I heard was, that you could only have a 38 caliber Revolver.
DeleteWhat the hell will that do, to stop criminals with assault rifles, with banana clips.
8:14 yes for handguns a 38special is the largest caliber one can legally own in a revolver while in a semiautomatic pistol it would be a 380acp.
DeleteIn rifles it would be a 22caliber, put a decent scope on it and shoot to kill within power and range if not possible than use to maim.
Shotguns would be from 410 to 12 gauge, in my opinion a scattergun is the most effective and potent firearm for home defense. Buckshot is a very effective round at person to person combat distance while if a little farther one can always use slugger rounds to put the fear of death in any MF. Personal defense ammunition to protect ones life will increase the likelihood of survival.
In a ranch one can own all three firearms and can carry them within the private property.

DeleteUnfortunately none of the ranchers, had weapons for self defense.
He never thought crime would hit his property.

DeleteAre you in Mexico?
You seem to know which weapons are allowed to legally own.
I would say if criminals have Ar-15s, AK-47s, 50 cal Barrett sniper rifles, then the law abiding citizens, should be able to have those too.
RIp and rip to Don Alejo two men protection their land.
ReplyDeleteMay the brave rancher rest in peace--and at his age, He showed more fortitude than most men, younger ones included. Goddamn the lowlife trash who murdered this man and his ranchhand.
ReplyDeleteThis is eerily reminiscent of an episode of a Netflix minseries called SOMOS. which was a fictionalized retelling of the 2011 Allende Massacre in which a crusty but honest landowner rancher was murdered for standing up to Los Zetas and not permitting them to use his land as a base of criminal operations.
FF71
Fucking broke ass criminals. Cant buy land so they try to take it by force. Mexico is fucked.
ReplyDeleteYeah Don Alejo is forever immortalized in that Netflix show SOMOS.
ReplyDeleteDon Alejo isn't the only brave rancher in Mexico. Viva Don Gustavo.
ReplyDeleteMexicans with huevos are standing up to these clowns. God bless them all and members of SEDENA and SEMAR for their courage.
Yeah, i remember a story of a boy in Zacatecas , El Plateado de Joaquin Amarro. Back when Z were around he had a shootout with them. His purpose was protecting his ranchito.
Delete8:07:
DeleteThat's interesting. Do you have the boy's name?
It made the national news .. i just may have the name of the municipio incorrect. I will look into it
DeleteAmericans who live or own vacation homes in certain areas of Mexico will also be targets. I say this cause it happened to me and many others. Perpetrators are mexicans and even other Americans. Does not always amount to murder but certainly great monetary loss.
ReplyDeleteIm a gringo in Mazatlan and my blonde trophy wife has run on the malecone for 7 years with no issues. Me and my American and Mexican buddies still party every Tue and Thur night till daylight with no issues.
Delete@7:09 Know your facts if your gonna state something as fact.
Only cowards do that ... Do they really call themselves men cause they aren't ... If I was president in Mexico all those m fers would be in jail or no more ... I would tell em u answer to me m fers not the other way around and those that didn't listen ... POGRE
ReplyDeletePresidents in Mexico favor bribes coming in. They care less about it's citizens, getting killed to Narco violence.
DeleteAlmo has to bring back some serious punishment for these criminals. I support human sacrifice/executions como los Aztecas.
ReplyDeleteDon't count on it AMLO is nothing more than the Cartels mouth piece doesn't control nada
Delete10:04:
DeleteELMO is really starting to get tough on the cartels. Rather than giving them a hug, he is now giving then a tight squeeze.
