Members of two criminal groups working for opposing cartels unleashed a series of armed clashes in the municipality of Uruapan, Michoacan, on Wednesday afternoon.
Residents reported that members of Los Viagras and the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) were involved in the gun battle, which took place on the afternoon of Wednesday, February 22 in the vicinity of Cerro de Tejerías.
Following the clashes, which occurred at the site where the municipalities of Uruapan, Ziracuaretiro and Taretan converge, elements of state and federal forces conducted tours in the area to provide support to the inhabitants.
A few days ago, personnel from the Ministry of National Defense (SEDENA) and the Civil Guard responded to an aggression by an armed group in the same area of the state. According to the official report from Michoacan authorities, the confrontation left two alleged criminals dead and one wounded.
This area of the state has once again become a battleground between Los Viagras and the Jalisco New Generation Cartel for control of the territory.
This conflict is still going on...w.t.f...
