Methamphetamine seized from Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG) aligned dealers greatly outnumbers that from captured rival Cártel Santa Rosa de Lima (CSRL) dealers in Guanajuato public security social media posts, suggesting that CJNG is gaining the upper hand in the years long conflict for control of the state.
The Twitter account of the Public Security Forces of Guanajuato (@FSPE_Gto) regularly posts images of captured drug dealers alongside photographs of their product. The feed is updated daily with new arrests, acting as a daily press release of law enforcement actions. The data in this article was tallied from these posts about captured drug dealers.
So far in 2023, meth from CJNG aligned dealers greatly outnumbers meth seized from CSRL drug dealers, with at least 190 (83%) dealers arrested selling CJNG meth, versus just 38 (17%) selling CSRL meth.
This branding makes it easy for both groups to discover which drug dealers are aligned with their rivals. This rivalry is reflected in the narco messages each group leaves by the bodies of killed dealers, which frequently reference blue or white meth as the reason for their death.
"This happened to me for selling white meth", reads a message left by the body of a CJNG dealer |
Authors note: This data was tallied from posts of FSPE meth busts bin Guanajuato in 2023. This is therefore not official data, but is based on which seizures were reported on. It is possible that some seizures may not have been reported on by the government, which would skew the dataset.

No money in Met anymore. Pounds are going for 800.. in L.A. it shows you. Even selling crack back in the day would be more profitable.
ReplyDeleteI'm so damn impressed by you reviewing 228 images released by state authorities which show meth.
ReplyDeleteYou found publicly available data that works a rough snapshot of the overall meth market. And put in a caveat about police potentially favoring one group, not always disclosing seizures.
Articles like this make me so happy.
Gracias Hearst :)
DeleteThis could really mean one of two things…lol 🦉
ReplyDeleteIt might be 800 in la but there is other cities where it goes for more and less likely to have someone OD which means making more money on those spun out customers
ReplyDeleteYes their spun out... But it's No money in having your buyers loosing their minds.
DeleteAnd then now there’s an “adderall shortage” which will only fuel the meth epidemic even more…
DeleteNews outlets are reporting tons of students and young folks using the darknet to get their pills, so clearly they’re not afraid to break the law for their “medication” 🦉
7:55 coincidence?
DeleteI don't think so
7:55 New England is also apparently awash with fake “Adderall” now that’s really just Mexican methamphetamine.
DeleteHey Huaso does the government information show in which areas of Gto the blue jale was seized?
ReplyDeleteThey do indirectly. In the press releases they mention how much product was seized in what place, so you can piece the photo to the location. I started looking at the locations, but there was no real pattern I noticed. CSRL meth still everywhere, just in lower quantities.
DeleteThat gives you a really good idea of how much of the state each cartel controls
ReplyDeleteThats what I was hoping!
Deletewhat do they call the "bindles", the menudeo packaging of the criko?
ReplyDeleteglobos? grappas?
I imagine every region has its own lingo..
Back in the days when the dinosaurs ruled the earth, me and other like-minded young whippersnappers kept our toot in the cleverly named "snow seals", paper wraps that the blow wouldn't soak into..
stick your car key into the seal, and we were good to go for another hour, I kid you not..
🦎
There was a biker chick who ran a hot dog stand by my old job and the area was always full of truckers buying meth…
DeleteDon’t ask how I found out, but she would stuff a straw full of meth then stick it in a hot dog… for anyone who had an “appetite” 🦉
The seals! Damn! Flashback!
DeleteSinaloa sells white meth in GTO as well. They might make up some part of that percentage
ReplyDeleteLol
DeleteThanks for letting me know!
DeleteDo you have any articles or links I can read more on that?
10:13 no but trust me bro!!
DeleteI’ll find the articles huaso and if you want to get an insight of the Gente Nueva Salazar cell in GTO listen to Jose Cotta. He makes songs for marros and recently started making songs for sinaloas in gto. El gallo seems to be the top leader in the region. Base of operations seems to be penjamo
DeleteIt's all good in GTO. CSRL is and has been in alliance with los escorpiones de CDG y Gente Nueva Salazar de CDS along with other smaller factions like los viagras. CJNG isn't as big of a presence as they want you to think in GTO. You know the Sinaloa cartel doesn't really do narcomantas. The ones that were spotted a few months ago in GTO were fakes put up by CJNG. Sigue rifando CSRDL y Gente Nueva Salazar puro GTO
DeletePersonally I prefer jale Azul but I'm Team ALMO. I no like Santa Rosa de Lima.
ReplyDeleteDavid Saucedo told me a while back that drug users he spoke to much prefer the blue
DeleteProbably made with real ephedrine..
