Video Shows Convoy of La Familia Michoacána Gunmen in Trucks Travel to Fight Los Tlacos in Guerrero

A video shows part of a column of armed gunmen in trucks travelling through the small community of Oxtotitlán in the municipality of Teloloapan, in northern Guerrero. Hours after, a shootout was reported in the nearby town of Tlatzala.

According to API Guerreroa Guerrero news web site, the convoy is of La Familia Michoacána sicarios on their way to the region around Nuevo Balsas, a stronghold of rival criminal group Los Tlacos.

The 27 second video shows a portion of the convoy, which totaled around 300 armed men according to API Guerrero. The recording, from window of a home, shows 8 pickup trucks , the beds of several packed with uniformed gunmen, drive slowly through the dark streets of Oxtotitlán. 

The video was recorded after dark on April 16, 2023, but was posted the following night with a caption claiming the convoy had read reached Apatzla, a small town 8 kilometers (5 miles) south. 

API Guerrero reported that a shootout began in Apatlza around 6:00 p.m. on April 17th. 

Los Tlacos, also known as the Cartel de la Sierra, is a violent, regional criminal group which operates primarily in the state of Guerrero, in southwest Mexico. They are embedded in the local extortion markets, especially in food staples.

  1. Cartel de la Sierra for anyone doesn't know,they are the ones who caught interrogated and killed/dismembered on camera about 20 or more guys from La Bandera

  5. I'm only seeing about four dozen in the video so the 300 might be an exaggeration. It's pretty dark if the confrontation occurred after the video and at about 6 p.m. Has anyone actually verified the time that this video was taken? Was it recent or is this an old video?

    2. Chihuahua is the biggest state in Mexico , is safe to say La Línea is way bigger . Still is after fighting CDS and it’s ally the government back when CDS wanted to take Juarez .

  10. I believe the 300, but not through the same route. This video only shows a portion of the movement to the fighting positions.

    1. I think this may be right. Would take a lot of time in these narrow, steep roads.

  11. If well planned out, ingress and egress routes would be different, but this looks like a main body into an objective. These roads are steep at times and narrow, with many scouts/lookouts in the area, unless the warning was given and the opposing forces are gathered at strategic points. I’d like to see some reports of the outcome.

  12. Supposedly they they don't have as much people as many think cuz they having that war and the people raised in arms and making the commanders run to other cities in Guerrero look up paz en tierra caliente idk if it's true or not but what I seen nobody comes out saying all false statements
