Inhabitants of the communities of San Antonio de Las Tejas and Los Bajitos in the municipality of Coyuca de Catalán, in the mountains of Guerrero, denounced attacks by alleged members of the Familia Michoacana criminal group.

As of 4:35 p.m., no people had been reported wounded or injured, and at 5:15 p.m. the State Attorney General's Office stated that it was a confrontation between criminal groups in the mountainous area of Coyuca de Catalán, and that the events took place far from the communities of the Sierra.

On Sunday afternoon, it was reported that armed men went to the crossroads that connects the town of San Antonio de Las Tejas and the towns of Los Bajitos, where alleged gunmen from the Familia Michoacana arrived.

As a result, the villagers immediately filed a complaint, and the Mexican Army, State Police and ministerial agents were deployed in the areas where the attack against the villagers was presumed to have taken place.

"In the houses we are only women and children", was indicated in a message sent to the ministerial authorities and the Army.

Then she added "they have been surrounding the houses for about half an hour.

The Mexican Army and the FGE have already arrived to help the villagers," said a message from one of the villagers in the region.

The villagers recognized the state government for the speed with which the ministerial, state and Sedena authorities were deployed in the area where the attack took place.
