An alleged leader of the Sinaloa Cartel accused of trafficking fentanyl to the United States and bringing weapons into Mexico was arrested in Culiacán by members of the Mexican Army and the National Guard, reported the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena).
The arrested man is Humberto Arredondo Soto, who has a criminal record in the United States and a formal indictment from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Pennsylvania for trafficking cocaine, methamphetamines and fentanyl from Mexico to seven U.S. states.
The capture of the alleged criminal leader followed a joint investigation by the National Intelligence Center (CNI) and the Special Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime (FEMDO) of the Attorney General's Office (FGR).
Arredondo Soto was located in a property located in the town of Guadalupe Victoria, municipality of Culiacán, which was used for illicit activities.
The alleged drug trafficker is considered to be the head of a criminal cell of the Sinaloa Cartel in Culiacán, where he fled to after the accusations against him were made public by the U.S. Department of Justice.
Following a search warrant at the property, the arrest and that of another person was carried out in flagrante delicto, securing possible synthetic drugs, firearms, cartridges, magazines and vehicles.
The Sedena informed that all the seized items have already been handed over to the Federal Attorney General's Office (FGR) "in order to carry out investigations and actions to confirm the type and quantity of the drugs, as well as the characteristics of the weapons".

Maybe because some if not all of the actions in sinaloa in the last few months have been aimed at chapitos & the gov is slowly kicking their legs out from under them. They didn't learn from their pops mistakes & at the very they will end up in altiplano. Judging by how the minigun was used in ovidio's arrest it could end up badly for them. If you have been reading comments the el e1 guy said this is him. He has been talking about him for awhile & said he's very important piece in us pipeline. So it looks like things are getting very serious for them.

DeleteInteresting that he was arrested in Pinal County in October 2021 for drug trafficking just after the DEA started tapping the phones of the western PA distribution cell. Obviously he posted bond and went straight to Mexico.
