St. Cloud Woman Linked To Sinaloa Cartel Captured In Mexico

"Sol Prendido" for Borderland Beat

She is accused of being part of a group that smuggled drugs from Mexico to North Dakota and Minnesota.

Deanna M. Gerads, a 33-year-old St. Cloud woman on the run from authorities for more than a year, was apprehended in Mexico earlier this month.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Gerads was captured Aug. 1 by Mexican immigration authorities and deported from Mexico. She was wanted in North Dakota for drug trafficking and will be charged by North Dakota prosecutors with conspiracy to distribute and import controlled substances into the United States.

According to the charges, Gerads was involved in a drug-trafficking operation in narcotics from the Sinaloa cartel were trafficked into the U.S., including 150 pounds of methamphetamine into North Dakota and Minnesota in 2021 and 2022.

"The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was instrumental in providing information that led to the apprehension of Gerads, who has been a fugitive for over a year," the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a release.

    4. @11:25 and 7:19 clearly neither of you live here. You can easily disappear here (and people have). As for 1:48 there is not an OXXO in every ejido, not even close, and OXXO isn't some LE agency lol - as if LE here is monitoring Oxxo cameras lol. Exactly how do you basement in your mom's house dwelling kids think it works here? You think outside the tourist areas someone is going to report to the police a gringo is living among us? No one cares. And no one speaks to the police here and most areas aren't even policed. You think Mexican State police or municipal police have an APB out and are actively searching for you? LOL. I've been the only gringo in many ejidos (some places maybe the only gringo ever to visit) and trust me, the only people who know are the halcones.

    7. Hell, look how long James Whitey Bulger lasted as a fugitive. And he was still in the US! They normally catch fugitives based on The Human condition of missing your family/friends and reaching out to them. That’s Also why people leave the Witness Protection and get murked. They miss the life and people and go back.

      Delete
    8. @9.02. You could disappear if you had lots and lots of money and weren't being hunted. If you are on your own and don't have money basically you're fucked if you're on the radar. The reasons people are forced to disappear usually make it difficult to spring up knew friendships, keep their name off everything, not leave a trail behind. The old days where outlaws can pay in stolen notes and live by their wits are long gone.

      Delete
    9. @4.32. Whitey Bulger was an FBI informant though. There must have been reluctance or at least apathy when it came to bringing him in, or maybe just inter-departmental blocking, and ass covering.

    2. Small towns are riddled with both functional and nonfunctional drug addicts. It's also easier to get caught in small towns in the USA. A lot of these smaller metropolises have multiple county operations that target the main suppliers of meth and fent that make it into said small towns. Both meth and fent are real popular in the midwest area and always has been.

A older crip stabbed a drunk emero in the high desert, that crip was transferred to Salinas where he was hit, a small riot erupted and allegedly 3 sureños were stabbed.

I’m thinking Tango might slide with MS since they don’t tax each other but Tango doesn’t bang outside the walls so who knows. MS still have big homies but they are all on 🤐 status in 🇸🇻 rn. 6. Minnesota has had heavy weight being pumped there since the late nineties. You have 94 and 35 highways coming there, plus Chicago makes their contributions there. Moneyapolis and the Land of 10,000 pounds is a gold mine and major hub. Ice, coke, blues, and bud evaporate once they touch down there and lots of money gets made there, low key, been like that for many years. Plus a lot of weight that lands there gets distributed to North Dakota and northern Wisconsin. Lotta money to be made up there.

    4. Detroit, I know you’re an ex Fed. So, in your opinion, how do we fix both countries. You know DRUGs WILL NEVER cease to exist. So how to do you curb the violence? Money brings corruption and violence. But prohibition brings money. So how do you win when you know people will forever and ever try to alter their minds and body.

    8. 4:45 has a very legitimate question. We need to give doctors in the U.S. the ability to prescribe narcotics in decreasing doses to break the addiction. Until the U.S. gets the medical community into the fight, we are fighting a losing battle.

  14. @ Detroit. This woman is innocent until proven guilty. You are just a nasty old man. You want a woman who hasn't even gone to trial yet on a rote filled with corruption to ''Burn In Hell Bitch?''. If Jesus was the judge I reckon he'd be walking away with her and telling you to shut the fuck up, but in more peaceful symbolic Christian terms.
