The contributors at Borderland Beat aim to cover newsworthy and relevant stories related to organized crime and security in Mexico. However, this means that we sometimes miss the many small footprints left by organized crime groups around the country. This article aims to cover more of these events which do not merit a full article.
Guerrero, Chilpancingo - Two decapitated bodies were found alongside a highway, reported Quadratin Guerrero.
Zacatecas, Tabasco - After a gunfight, armed men entered a secondary school, apparently to find cover, reported journalist Ángel Martínez on Twitter/X.
Guanajuato, Silao - The employee of a tortilla shop was killed by armed gunmen, reported AM Noticias.
Chihuahua, Madera - A rural narco camp was dismantled, reported La Opcion.
Veracruz, Tlapacoyan - In two separate events, two taxi drivers were killed, reported Imagen Veracruz.
5 members of Union Tepito were also arrested in CDMX.
ReplyDeleteAlso, two cartel sicarios were killed by police and a third sicario was arrested after a shootout in San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora. Some news outlets report that the sicarios belonged to the criminal group Los Salazar.
