Video Shows CJNG Donate Computers to School in Jalisco

By "El Huaso" for Borderland Beat

"This computer was donated by Señor Mencho in order to support the students of this school so that they have a better and greater education."
A video released on social media shows a classroom furnished with computers apparently donated by Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, alias "El Mencho", the leader of the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG).

The desktop background of each computer has a personal dedication note from Mencho as well as a logo used previously in other CJNG gifts. A text box on the screen reads: "A detail from papa Mencho":

Handing out food, appliances, and other gifts is a common tactic used by the CJNG and other criminal groups in order to gain local support. Alongside the traditional turf conflict between the government and between criminal groups is the war of perception and propaganda, with each party competing to earn the trust and loyalty of the civilian population. While the turf is fought with AK-47s, the propaganda war is fought with narco messages, narco videos, and gifts.

The intention behind gifts and videos like these is to portray the CJNG as a beneficial force in the community. These gifts are the physical accompaniment to a barrage of narco messages and videos which blame the rival criminal group as being responsible for all violence and crime, and attempt to convince the general public that the CJNG will respect the community and will fight to bring peace to the region. Of course, the CJNG are little different than their rivals in predating on civilians and causing violence.

For example, in December 2019, CJNG members filmed themselves driving around the rural municipality of Tomatlán, Jalisco, handing out plastic bags filled with food and toys. The bags also contained a flyer with the same CJNG logo seen on the computer screensavers seen in this video, noticed Borderland Beat contributor Char.

The logo text reads "The Lord of the Roosters, Mencho, wishes you a Merry Christmas!". The "Lord of the Roosters" is a common moniker for El Mencho, due to his apparent love of cockfighting.

His Men Cut the only road to Aguililla & Viagras cut the same road into other Direction so the townspeople couldn't leave ,or get help even in Medical Emergencies.. 6. I mean I have to admit that giving computers to school ( possibly stolen ones or whatever bad way they got them ) at least gives an opportunity for these students to “maybe” have a future. Unless they added some propaganda videos or articles inside. Besides the wallpaper that advertises the cartel.

    Hmmmmmmm double edge sword!!!!!

  13. These guys are on something, most towns in jalisco young guys are peer pressured or forced to join them, alot of areas have completely been lost to them. Everyone works with them, and now they want to use this propaganda to make themselves look good.

  23. So what happens if the teachers or students don't want the computers that are basically recruiting instruments for the cartel. If they don't want them does the cartel come by and blow their head off with dynamite? Just wondering I don't think I'd want my kid going to school learning about cnjg.

  25. 4.15 pm your full of crap. I visit the southern part of Jalisco every year. No one is peer pressured by the bosses to get into the game. It's your choice maybe in different areas but not where I visit. The ones that join useally are the lazy fucks who don't want to bust ass and survive. I'm sure friends that join try to recruit each other. The times I seen them guys they're useally from different states. It's very similar how gangs work in the US. But in the cartel I guess you get paid if you survive. I dislike seeing fake narratives all the Cartels are bad. But if you ask most people where CJNG, CDS, or CDG fully control they're territory they will say. Ever since they been there controlling things have been safer less thefts, extortion and rape. They prefer no Cartels. But without Cartels you got less money so Cops start extorting, you start getting small crews who start kidnapping and shit gets crazy again.
