The last known location of this weaponry is in Michoacan, Jalisco and Zacatecas, where Mencho's gunmen are fighting a war against the United Cartels and the Sinaloa Cartel. Although there could be more.
"We know from investigations that have been done against arms dealers, for example, in Texas, that one cartel in particular placed orders for parts that are only consistent with a Minigun. This has been of special concern in the fight against the cartels because there is no security force in Mexico capable of resisting an attack with this weapon," said a Texas agent who does intelligence work and purchases simulated weapons for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

CJNG has all eastern Michocan along the border with Guanajuato except Morelia and a few others. Coalcoman and Aguillila, they are in Urupan, The municipalities that border Estado de Mexico maybe 1 or two are contested and Guerrero except for Artiaga, Lazaro Cardenas, and one of two. El Jardinero has Huetamo, Churumuco, Turicato, Tacambaro, Caracuaro, Nocuptero, their are many more. The reason CJNG hasn't taken all of Michoacan is because El Abuelo flipped on CJNG, Templarios did the same, and Migueladas did something that provocted CJNG so they lost that alliance. CJNG is having problems getting into the interior of the state for example where the Avocado land is and Apaztingan and surrounding areas the Coastal areas. With Pajaro Sierras flipping they lost large parts of territory that border Michoacan and Jalisco. The Michoacan cartels survive on Extortion, prostitution, trafficking people for the sex trade, fuel theft, commercial theft, vehicle theft and a few tons of cocaine they can send north, Crystal Meth production that isn't as valuable as it once was. The support the state and federal government give the local cartels also has lots to do with them not because able to take the state. I think CJNG is to spread out to many fronts.

ReplyDeleteWhen can they effectively be used?? I can easily tell that no one commenting here knows anything about weapons or the logistics behind effective warfare. These mini guns have a firing rate of about 6,000 rounds per minute!! 6000 rounds of .308 ammo weighs about 300lbs, so you would need additional support to operate taking at least another man out of the fight at best. How often do you think the narcos move around with tens of thousands of rounds of ammo ?? Face it as rich as these cartels are they don’t have the resources and infrastructure that the Mexican military has. La Marina used one of these mini guns in Nayarit against H2, and they can afford to use these weapons to train as much as possible. If a sicario wants to shoot a mini gun for leisure let’s say about 20minutes, we’re looking at about $100,000 usd in ammo I’m sure y’all’s beloved menchita would throw a hissy fit !
Only worthwhile comment here so far! They’re not very affective unless you have the logistics for it. One minute and it’s out of ammo and a useless chunk of metal. Using M2 and 240’s is way more convenient and effective

DeleteMiniguns are mounted inside suvs and the gulf cartel main factions all have miniguns. There was one in matamoros in the shootout that killed tony tormenta. The mounted 50 cal is still the best for cartel warfare

DeleteMinigun is a gatling gun the barrels spin so yes the metros had them the escorpiones also and like i mentioned before in the shootout to capture tony tormenta a minigun or gatling gun was used by his men. They used to mount them inside suv's. There are also hand held versions like the one jessy ventura used in predator but the cartel ones are mounted and bigger.

DeleteA 134 is def not a sub gun. Shoots 7.62x51 nato, otherwise known as .308, that thing is much worse than any 9mm, 4.6 or 5.7. I know one thing, they are t buying those with a straw buyer in the states. They would be fairly hard to hide if you also wanted them to be practically usable. The sheer volume of ammo just to run them for a short period is more than most civilian vehicles could handle, especially vehicles modified in order to try and hide the 134. Not like you can burst fire them in short bursts like machine guns. They jam easily so you need to stay on the trigger for extended periods. Forget these, what people should be more concerned with, especially after the Israel attack, is manpads and atgm’s. There are so many in Ukraine that people like mencho or mayo have zero problem buying up even a trickle of the supply stream. Even if you are naive enough and o think that stingers, tows, etc…wouldn’t be sold by Ukrainian commanders, plenty of countries produce non western counterparts and would love to have this stuff right next door to America. Russia, Iran, hamas, hezbollah, and other groups have access to igla, stugna, kornet, not to mention all the rpg/unguided rocket variants floating around.
Delete9:11 I honestly can’t see any cartel employing a manpad against their adversaries. It’s stowed away in a long metal case that requires two individuals just to carry it. If you think you’re going to be slick and not keep it in there to shave off some weight. Then it becomes an issue of having to lug that screw on battery around as well. Without that battery that weapon system is useless. It’s meant to be in that case so that you don’t lose the battery and to protect it from the elements. You’re definitely not going to screw it into the system until you know for sure your target is in range. Plus the cost of these air-defense systems isn’t cheap either. If and when they’re actually used I feel it would only be in one of those rare instances where a confirmed high value target is flying overhead. That in itself requires knowing ahead of time your enemies flight itinerary and the avenue of approach that they’re coming through. Last but not least the missile housing on the newer models have one inch square markings on them that are color coded. You definitely have to know what those colors represent before even thinking of firing away.
