OVIDIO GUZMAN-LOPEZ

Jeffrey Lichtman, Ovidio Guzman's defense attorney, asked for more time to analyze the evidence, which includes documents, videos, and audio at today's arraignment before Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman of the Northern District of Illinois, Chicago.

Both parties agreed to request more time and the next hearing will be held on March 18, 2024.

The son of Joaquin El Chapo Guzman, charged with 12 counts of drug trafficking, was received by Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman.

In previous hearings, El Raton was formally indicted for conspiring to distribute drugs, being part of a criminal enterprise, exporting narcotics to the United States, conducting financial transactions with the proceeds of illegal activities, and unlawfully using and carrying firearms, to which Guzman Lopez pleaded not guilty.

According to Univision, Ovidio appeared in court much thinner and with a different appearance. He listened to the interpreter for 10 minutes and left escorted by prison guards.

    4. He needs more time , not for his lawyer to review the evidence, but in order for the people he told on to get caught , in order for his deal to be approved 🤷‍♂️😄

  2. He’s not the the brother that the government wants. I’m sure he can start that conversation and the government will listen.
Seems like it’s best to be one of the first ones to get arrested to get those killer deals lol. Nini and others should think about making arrangements and hiding money around knowing they’ll come back and enjoy it once they snitch
That would be the smartest play

    2. What are you talking about, the Sinaloa’s way is snitch all the way,
Maybe that’s even the strategy that they are trying to go with… Turn themselves in, cooperate, do some time, maybe 10-15 yrs…. Clear
Their name, and retire happily ever after in the states…..snitch

    4. Oh…. I think not . A person is the average of the 5 people their closest to. The fact that his dad gave up people to the government , in order to get people out of jail , makes me think he will do the same . As respected as Chapo still is to the majority of people who don’t know the true extent of his deeds , makes me think in Ovidios mind , he feels he will still be respected whether he snitches or not . Mayos kids and brother did the same , and they are still respected by the majority of society. I don’t see him eating a life sentence in the FEDS to do the opposite of what everyone else close to him has done under the same circumstances. And it’s not about him being from this cartel or being from another . At the end of the day ,when someone is actually in a position where they can be put in an American prison for life , do they rethink all crap they said they would never do . I never pick sides or favor one cartel over another . To me their all contributing to poisoning society, for greed and power , so their all bad . I know a lot of people root for certain cartel or cartel figure , but if that same group or person sold your most loved ones the fentanyl/ drugs that directly was responsible for killing them, would they still have the admiration for that group or figure ? I used to hear a saying years ago when I found myself in federal prison, they would say “ in here there’s 2 types of inmates … the ones who snitched … and the ones who wished they would have snitched . Having that “ he didn’t snitch and kept it solid “ title that is sought after by people involved in that lifestyle is very short lived . After a year or 2 that title means nothing , because all the people who praised you “ when you kept it 💯 “ , have forgotten all about you , and have moved on with their lives . So while the person who doesn’t snitch , and eats the life sentence, doesn’t realize, the “ no snitching “ badge of honor , doesn’t mean a damn thing when their sitting locked away in a cage , for their rest of their life , while the ones they thought would be impressed, have forgotten all about them . I remember reading something about El Mochomo not snitching , and eating a life sentence, and everyone praising him for being solid . And although it’s been only a few years since he got his life sentence, I don’t hear anyone praise him anymore , or mention his name , unless it’s related to something that happened in the past . I’m sure Chapo was able to get word out to his sons , letting them know that a life sentence in a U.S Supermax Federal Prison, is worse or atleast comparable to death . And Chapo is already an old man compared to Ovidio . After Chapo explaining to him , just how bad the rest of his entire life will be , day after day, year after year , I really don’t think Ovidio is willing to trade the rest of his life for a “ I didn’t snitch “ badge of honor . Especially when he knows no one will speak bad about him (to his or the Chapitos faces) , let alone bring harm to him , if he was to return back to Culiacan , after giving up whoever he has to , besides his brothers .

  5. If I got in the game to get rich.
    I would snitch too .
It's an easy choice actually .
Spend the rest of your life in jail or snitch about other scum (politicians, criminals) and get out in 5 years and enjoy your millions that you got stashed away.
Live the rest of your life somewhere far away from Mexico.
I'd head to Europe or dubai
Saying all that I think this dude has a tougher decision as he would have to snitch on his blood Brothers.
Put your own brother the rest of his life in jail.
That's perhaps where I would draw the line myself.
Glad I'm not in his shoes

    5. It's exactly how it works.
Snitching is a get out of jail free card.
Self preservation is engrained deep inside our dna.
      It's psychology 1 on 1.
Streets and honor is all bullshitt claimed by lowlifes that live on the bottom of society.

    6. 1:41 that's not how it works.
Snitching will shorten time in prison, not let go free.

    7. @8.21 some people take everything literally.
At the level of these guys.
it's either life in prison without parole or doing 5 years tops in a minimum security facility.
In my opinion that's a get out jail free card.
