Two Houston Men Convicted of Kidnapping on Orders From the CJNG

By "El Huaso" for Borderland Beat

Two Houston men were convicted of kidnapping, beating, and threatening a man on orders from the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG), according to the United States Drug Enforcement Administration.

The kidnapping occurred on May 3, 2019, when Noe Hernandez and Homero Gallegos kidnapped and tortured an unnamed victim with a taser, holding them captive for 24 hours. The victim's family received a phone call demanding $400,000 USD in exchange for his release.

US law enforcement were waiting at the negotiated spot in Houston and rescued the victim.

According to the DEA, the men carried out the kidnapping on order from "high-level drug traffickers" in Mexico linked to the CJNG.

They will remain in custody until their sentencing in March 2024. According to the DEA press release, they face up to life in prison and a possible $250,000 maximum fine.

This is far from the first event where a Mexican criminal group operated in the United States from orders in Mexico. This April, Erik Tadeo Ramirez disappeared from Laredo, Texas hours after bragging that he stole $50,000 USD from the Cartel del Noroeste. According to witnesses, Ramirez said he did not fear retribution because he believed the CDN could not strike at him in the United States.

Video of that event shows Ramirez, beaten and bloodied, trying to escape from a moving vehicle traveling southward out of Laredo into Mexico. Ramirez has not been seen since. For Borderland Beat's coverage of that event, read here.

  1. So I’m assuming this victim owed money or tried to rob Jale. Criminal Minds can either be genius or outright clinically retarded, because how in the hell can you possibly think that Law Enforcement isn’t following the money.

  3. That is a stupid thought to bet your life on. Why wouldn’t any cartel be able to touch you in the US. People have the false idea of what being in America is. Wonder at what point did he realize he was wrong…

    1. 4:25 Mijo no cartel hitman will succeed. Fortunately many Americans have guns to protect themselves. In Mexico citizens get slaughtered easily, because they have no guns to defend themselves.

    2. Problem is that the cartel won’t come for you like they do in Mexico … they’ll wait it out and catch you distracted on your phone while your on instagram in a Walmart parking lot far away from your beloved guns that are sitting at home … pobre pendejos won’t see it coming

You would think these guys are untouchable as they just come to do their work and leave

Like the colombians that killed barry seal. They have a job, come in, finish then immediately leave

I mean how could you even know much less trace someone like that

      Maybe someone informs?

    1. Very very few because FBI takes this shit serious. 100 percent you get caught in the US and suffer the consequences when caught so its not done much, at least not for ransom. Human trafficking another story.

  6. Humm m..🤔 Cartels think they can get away with murder in the USA, I understand in Mexico, because the police and government let criminals go free, killing without punishment.
Glad they do investigate in USA.
