Sonora WarZone: Vehicle, Weapons And Drugs Secured In A Joint Operation By The National Guard And The Mexican Army In Pitiquito, Sonora

Vehicle, Weapons, and Drugs Seized 


In a joint operation, the National Guard and the Mexican Army seized a vehicle, weapons and various illicit substances in the municipality of Pitiquito, Sonora.


In the operation, the security forces confiscated:


- 3 long arms

- 1 short weapon

- 530 cartridges for long arms

- 13 magazines

- 330 wrappers with apparent marijuana

- 111 wrappers of possible synthetic drug crystal methamphetamine

- 23 cigars with green and dry grass with the characteristics of marijuana


The vehicle and the weaponry, along with the possible narcotics, were handed over to the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office to continue with the corresponding investigations.


This action reaffirms the commitment of the security forces in the fight against organized crime and the protection of the community in Sonora.

    1. That’s BS. I this area, especially in El Sasabe, NO military is present from El Sasabe to Altar, Sonora. So don’t come and say that they do their part. There is a lot of instability in this region and it is mainly
      Due to the lack of military presence (raids, convoys, checkpoints, etc.) in this area of Sonora. If the military wants credit in this region, then they need to come in hard and get rid of these scumbag “sicarios.”
