Jesus Arnoldo Serrano Castelo, deputy prosecutor in the southern zone confirmed that this corporation does not have a checkpoint on the Mexico 15 free highway, on the Palmillas-Tecualilla stretch in the municipality of Escuinapa.

After some citizen reports pointing out an apparently illegal checkpoint on the highway stretch, the head of the southern zone of the Sinaloa State Attorney General's Office said that they do not have personnel carrying out such actions.

He indicated that they are aware of the situation because of what has been reported in the media; however, there is no formal complaint or report from citizens who have been affected by the people present there.

"We do not have any checkpoints on the part of the investigative police of the State Attorney's Office, if we are aware of this report or this news, but our police do not have checkpoints there, confirmed that we do not have investigative police in checkpoints in that area," he said.

Organized crime:
However, Serrano Castelo said he did not have the necessary elements to affirm that this checkpoint is by organized crime or armed civilians, but he did assure that they are not investigative police from the Sinaloa Prosecutor's Office.

The images shared with Luz Noticias show alleged police officers with AK-47 weapons checking vehicles, which bothered drivers on the Palmillas-Tecualillas stretch in Escuinapa.

In response to this, residents of the municipality indicated that these were elements of the Sinaloa State Attorney General's Office, although with the statement of the head of the office in the southern zone, it is possible that this was an illegal checkpoint.

    1. Gabito & His brother have control from Mazatlan to Escuinapa. Most likely further out too considering his brother controls Concordia. So he has quite the territory.

  5. Those check points are all over the state! There’s no choice but to answer the questions and go about your way. Local government knows exactly who they are and where they are.
