So far no authorities have released details of this operation that has been going on for about 8 hours and where so far it has been said unofficially that there are at least four people dead, detained and a very close relative of "El Guano" is missing.
According to reports, it was before 11:00 a.m. on Monday the 8th when elements of a special group of the Mexican Army arrived to the area by air aboard three helicopters to later descend and initiate a confrontation against armed individuals who control the aforementioned area, while by land several units of the federal forces moved in to reinforce the operation.
According to reports, hours after the operation began, the troops who were in the region where the intelligence and incursion tasks were being carried out to try to capture "Guano" requested support from the bases in the cities of Culiacán and Durango, which immediately moved aboard several armored units to the area where the action was taking place.
Messages from families residing in the areas of the towns surrounding Las Banquetas, Los Frailes, Chihuahua and El Durazno, Durango warned their relatives about heavy clashes taking place in that entity and later it was reported that the internet and cellular telephony were down, but up to this moment no official report has confirmed the four people dead and the detainees, so it is unknown if among the people captured is the missing relative of the capo.
It should be noted that in late February and early March of last year a similar operation was carried out in the same area where today the Army confronted a cell of the "Cartel del Guano", where three people were arrested and a sandpit, tactical equipment and ammunition were seized. According to authorities, Aureliano Guzmán managed to escape through the cliffs of the region.
Up to this moment, the operation continues in the Sierra Madre Occidental...
