A fierce gun battle between gunmen and the military took place on Monday afternoon, August 5, in the vicinity of Pueblo Nuevo, Costa Rica.
The exchange of bullets occurred during a chase between members of the Mexican Army and gunmen traveling in a black pick-up truck.
The pursuit ended when the officers found the unit abandoned, with tactical equipment and several bullet wounds in its bodywork.
No deaths were reported at the scene and so far no arrests have been confirmed by the authorities.
