Martin Garcia Corrales, one of the three men found murdered in Elota on Saturday morning, was wanted by the U.S. government, for whom it was offering a $4 million reward.
Garcia Corrales and his brother Leobardo are accused of being involved in the large-scale production of methamphetamine and fentanyl. They are linked to Ismael el Mayo Zambada and Joaquin el Chapo Guzman.
On November 14, 2022, according to the United States, Martin agreed to purchase hundreds of automatic rifles and other weapons, including grenades, a transaction paid for with fentanyl to be imported and delivered to the United States.
In September of that same year, Martin facilitated the delivery of about a kilo of fentanyl to an address in California.
On Saturday morning, three men, including Martin Garcia Corrales, were found executed and with traces of torture on a dirt road near the Mexico 15 International Highway in Elota.

The death of Martin Garcia Corrales, a member of the Sinaloa Cartel is undoubtedly alarming. The reason is either Martin was killed by his own bosses Los Chapitos, or Martin was killed by the Mayo Zambada faction of the Sinaloa Cartel.
Martin worked under his brother who is considered a high-ranking member of the Sinaloa Cartel named Leobardo Garcia Corrales "Don Leoba". Don Leoba was described by the US government as a key operator for Ivan and Jesus Alfredo Guzman Salazar, who liked to brag about his closeness with the leaders of Los Chapitos. The current whereabouts or status of Leobardo Garcia Corrales are unknown, but in the upcoming hours or days, more information will be available.
