The arrest of Piyi, who allegedly forms part of the structure of Los Ninis, was reported on Thursday during a ground and air operation carried out by the Army, National Guard and Special Forces in the Santa Fe area of Culiacan.
Unofficially, it was reported that the operation was carried out in the vicinity of the Fincas de las Colinas and Montserrat subdivisions, where about twenty patrols of the military forces besieged the area, while helicopters flew over the area where El Piyi and six other people were arrested.
El Piyi is accused of being part of the armed wing of the Sinaloa Cartel led by Nestor Isidro Perez Salas, “El Nini,” and now allegedly under the command of Jorge Humberto Figueroa Benitez, “El Perris” or “El 27.
El Piyi is reportedly one of the closest collaborators of Perris and El Nini, the latter of whom was arrested on November 22, 2023 in Culiacan.
