LA BOLA TREVIÑO

Carlos Alberto Monsiváis Treviño, alias Bola Treviño, was captured in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, in flagrante delicto by members of the National Guard and the Mexican Army.

The detainee is considered to be the second most important man in the Northwest Cartel, a criminal organization with a presence in Tamaulipas, Coahuila and Nuevo León.

According to investigations, Bola Treviño was in charge of organizing kidnappings, extortion, drug and migrant trafficking. He is even accused of orchestrating armed attacks against members of the army.

He is also accused of being the main generator of violence in Tamaulipas, particularly in the border area with the United States, to which he also sent illicit substances.

The detainee was transferred to Mexico City to face the charges against him before the competent authorities, given his high level of danger.

Who is 'La Bola' Treviño's family?

Carlos Alberto Monsiváis Treviño, El Bola, comes from a lineage of drug lords. His uncles were members of the Los Zetas cartel.

He is the nephew of brothers Miguel Angel and Omar Treviño Morales, El Z-42 and El Z-40 respectively, historic leaders of Los Zetas.

Omar Treviño was described as someone who “loved to kill people”, as he gave free rein to his sadism when taking the lives of his enemies.

For this reason, Z-40 was one of the most bloodthirsty criminals in Mexico, as he even implemented a type of botox that caused death and was not detected in autopsies.

For his part, his brother Z-42 took over the leadership of the criminal organization after Miguel Angel's capture in 2013. His tenure was even more violent than the previous one.

This caused divisions within Los Zetas, until he was arrested two years later on his way home to Nuevo Leon.

  1. The Trevinos aren’t that big of drug traffickers. Never were. They were lavadora de perros. What gave them their name and respect ( if you call it that ) in the cartels was their brutal violence and ruthlessness when dealing with enemies. They’re the type people that would kill you for any small minor sleight they perceived from you. They butchered an entire town Allende because couple their guys ran off with along of money and gave info about their phones to the DEA. Watch SOMOS on Netflix it gives the story. Has BB ever done an in depth article on that like they did with the Tijuana wars ? That’d be a good read.

    4. What ever happened to Poncho Cuellar & his brother?
There the ones that ran off with Z's Millons of USD.
I think they gave them asylum/bew identity in witness protection.
      But can anyone confirm?

Plus that pussy they'd call Diablo in dallas gave 40s phone info to Tres Letrad when he was caught with cash ina hidden compartment & theybpressured his family lol.

    6. Everyone in the drug was a nobody once upon a time. You clearly don’t know nothing about what you’re talking about. 40 literally would do the jobs the other Z were scared to do. Like to Guatemala and take over and place drug routes. Funny how you mentioned Allende. Once again 40 was the one who taught the Z how to traffic in large sums and move them across the border through his connections in allende. 40 was a HUGE reason why they expanded so much. That’s the reason Lazcano kept him around so much when the others didn’t like him. And because of his ruthlessness. But 40 along with Kiko Osuna were pushing major weed across before the Z were even invented. SOMOS is a lot of holes and gaps. You want to blame someone blame the DEA. The biggest drug traffickers the Z ever had was Chipsa and then 40.

    13. If you really know and have been around you would know Z40 was a huge reason why the Zetas expanded so much. A lot of the Zetas didn’t like him. But Lazcano did. He taught them how to deal drugs. They were kidnappers and extorted. Chispa and 40 showed them how to be independent and make move with drugs. Most of the original Zetas were ignorant indigenous guys. A lot of them didn’t even know how to drive. That is a fact. While they were busy with other things 40 was making millions with drug sales. Kept Lazcano happy. Once he was too powerful it was too late to move him out the way. Z40 was a whole lot smarter than alot of drug traffickers. Look at him now. 11 yrs down. Still controls his city. Still runs the cartel. And not extradited. Y’all have to stop give opinions with your feelings and state facts. He may not be liked and was a piece of shit. But was smarter than a lot of them. And more ruthless

    14. It's not the car washer part, they are complete bums who kill for a few pesos. Killed a whole group of guys when a few k got missing. Also the Z group split because of them, rotten apples.

    1. As long as Z40 and Z42 remain in prison in Mexico and there are plenty of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other Treviño/Monsivais family members to act as a street boss, CDN will continue. Bola only lasted about a year and a half on the streets from his release in December 2022 to his recent arrest. Juanito remains in charge as street boss. Looks like Bola ordering the CDN video where CDN denies Zetas funding AMLO’s 2006 campaign didn’t help him. I also think that Bola ordered the CDN head flaying video based on the similarities in gear used by the CDN sicarios in both videos—same uniforms, plate carriers, guns, and even same black nitrile gloves. The CDN defending AMLO video is here: https://www.theyucatantimes.com/2024/03/cartel-del-noreste-makes-video-to-defend-amlo/. I won’t link to the head flaying video for obvious reasons.

    1. He didn't show up in the ICE inmate locator today but it might take some days.
I think he's being removed/deported as he didn't testify in any politicos criminal trial that I remember and no other criminal had a higher rank than him who could put a hit on him. Have to wait and see what happens..

    2. 3:52 he testified against the CDG/Zetas. This ended up creating a wave of violence.

    3. 10:06 OCG snitched on both CDG and Los Zetas but I don't remember him testifying in any federal or state criminal court against any of his underlings. He was El Patrón, nobody had a higher rank than him in La Compañía.
AP News article from 8/30/24 claims he has two pending arrest warrants in México. NBC News has a recent article about his transfer to ICE custody for.removal proceedings.
