A retired captain of the Mexican Army was murdered Thursday night at a gas station in the town of San Agustín, in the municipality of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga.

The crime occurred around 7:00 p.m. at a gas station located on Prolongación López Mateos at the intersection with Aldama Street, where the retired soldier arrived and parked his truck in the restroom area and walked to the convenience store to make some purchases.

Witnesses said that the perpetrators were two subjects, one of them wearing a black helmet and the second a green helmet, both wearing dark clothing, on board a motorcycle with no other characteristics.

The unknown assailants opened fire on their victim, who ran to his truck, took out his pistol and repelled the aggression. However, he was shot between four and five times and fell lifeless between the gas station pumps, less than 20 meters from his truck.

After committing the aggression, they escaped down Aldama Street. Shortly after, the paramedics of the Green Cross arrived, who could do nothing for the man and only confirmed his death.
