In the early hours of Monday, November 25, 65 video surveillance cameras were destroyed in Culiacan, when they were shot at by unidentified civilians.

This figure was confirmed by the Secretary of Public Security in Sinaloa, Gerardo Mérida Sánchez.

The cameras were destroyed in different points of the city in a simultaneous attack at around 2:30 am.

“Today (Monday, November 25) in the early morning, approximately 2:15, 2:16 to 2:42, a series of gunshots in several neighborhoods of this capital city we counted from the pure gunshot calls 31, 31 reports, these shots, this situation went directly to the surveillance cameras that are in the city and that c4 controls,” confirmed the Secretary of Security.

The cameras were destroyed at different points in the city in a simultaneous attack at around 2:30 am.

The state Security chief informed that the cameras will be replaced within a month and

“Unfortunately we were able to verify, handling figures at that time and now in the morning, a total of 65 vandalized cameras and I ratify for the situation that could be handled or could have been handled another amount, the amount that we have as c4 is that responsibility were 65.”

The state Security Secretary informed that the cameras will be replaced within a month and a half, due to the purchase process of these purchases.

“It is a fact that like all those that are relevant are not expected to happen as soon as it happens says one we have all this and we want to have control. I can also tell you that under this context, by direct indication of our Governor, Dr. Rubén Rocha Moya has already opened the budgetary need, and the work is already being done with the companies that can provide this material, that is to say, a bidding process must be called at the end, but to guarantee this work of replacement of cameras and to advance even more”, he stated.

This is due to the process of purchasing them.

“Yes, we are aware of what could happen later on, but as of today we are starting this procedure that in the end will help us to acquire the cameras that we need, the ones that have just been vandalized, and to be able to have some stock in that sense. The 65 will have to be replaced, but I also want to inform you, I want to tell you, that it is not an easy job, it is not a job of today for tomorrow for the day after, from one week to the next, this will take us an average of a month to 45 days, a month to a month and a half”.

    1. So why destroy them if they had access?

    2. Nope. The enemy has access, because they control culiacan. MF are destroying them so their men can move unseen into the city.

    2. I agree. He has a strategic plan from what it seems. It seems like he thinks things out before doing something. When the chapitos did that chicken shit to Mayo, he didn't just go of on them asap like alot, if not most would have. He strategized and recruited. Even got Chap Isidro on his side, and Chapo Isidro is a smart man. I doubt he wiuld have signed up for this if he thought any less of MF. And his advance seems strategic also. We'll see what the future holds.

    3. Exactly what I was thinking. If anything those cameras were surveillance for the chapos.

    4. It isn't "shitting in your own back yard" if the alternative is your back yard becoming somebody elses back yard. There are dozens of reasons this could have been Chapitos- getting out family members, bringing in re-enforcements, a new wave of soldiers being deployed, safehouses being rearranged. Those cameras are controlled by corrupted agencies but the access isn't exclusive, other Federal agencies can get in easily. I dissed a dude earlier in the comments saying "Nope, the enemy has access" but they were right. All it takes is one infiltration for the rest to be meaningless.
