The State Security Bureau of the state of Sonora reported the arrest of 34 people and a shipment of weapons including explosive devices in a series of operations in the state.

In a brief information card, the Mesa de Seguridad informed that in coordinated actions by the Secretary of the Navy, the National Guard, the Mexican Army and the State Police of Sonora, the arrests were made during the week of December 2 to 6, as well as the seizure of an arsenal of firearms and other military artifacts in 18 municipalities of the State.

“In joint operations in different areas of Sonora, 19 vehicles, 84 weapons of different calibers, 350 magazines, 24,752 cartridges; 972 wrappers of crystal; 459 wrappers of marijuana; 274 bags of cocaine; 90 explosive devices; 11 kilograms of marijuana and 12 tactical vests were seized,” reported the State Bureau, noting that the persons arrested and the material seized were placed at the disposal of the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office for the respective investigation.

The authorities did not give details of the people arrested, the shipments or the municipalities where these actions were carried out. It is worth remembering that since last year, Sonora is one of the Mexican states where violence took a considerable upturn after the disputes of several factions under the orders of Los Chapitos.

  1. What criminal group did these guys belong to? Probably Chapitos. I wonder what percentage of all that arsenal seized came from the United States? Why would the Mexican navy take off the upper clothes on three of the captured? Probably looking for tattoos in order to identify them. Either way good riddance scumbags. Nuff Said!!!
