A small plane crashed on a property in the wooded area of Quitupan, resulting in the death of seven people.

The Cessna 207 light aircraft, coming from “La Parota”, Michoacán, crashed on Sunday afternoon, in an area of difficult access, near the town of Palo Verde, in that municipality.
Elements of the State Unit of Civil Protection and Firefighters of Jalisco went to the area and in coordination with authorities of Quitupan and Mazamitla worked in the attention of the plane crash.
The officers located the bodies of seven people, which were burned, and requested the presence of personnel from the Forensic Medical Service.

So far the people have not been identified. Forensic experts are working in the area to rule out or confirm the presence of more victims.

Firefighters also worked on the extinguishing of the fire caused by the impact of the aircraft with license plate XB-MLO, which was destroyed.

Civil Protection officials carried out risk mitigation to prevent possible additional damage in the area.

In addition, personnel from the Mexican Army also participated in the protection of the site.
