Several dozens of firearms, drugs, cell phones and other prohibited objects were found in the three state prisons of Puente Grande, Jalisco, during a raid carried out by elements of the Jalisco Public Security Secretariat (SSP).

It has been 12 years since an operation to search the cells of the inmates in this prison complex, where 700 agents were deployed simultaneously to intervene in the Preventive, Sentencing and Metropolitan prisons.

“Several tips were secured, two firearms were secured, different doses of drugs, several prohibited objects and well we will be carrying out this type of revisions at different times and in the different penitentiary centers,” said the state's Secretary of Security, Juan Pablo Hernandez.

He indicated that in view of what was found in the cells, it will be necessary to review how the protocols are working to prevent this type of prohibited objects from entering the penitentiary centers.

“We will be reviewing the action protocols, some changes have already been made by the penitentiary police, we will be reviewing the processes that are carried out at the time of the revisions precisely to try to avoid this type of situations as much as possible”, he said.

He informed that the phones located will be handed over to the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences to find out if they were used for extortion from these prisons.

A total of 50 telephones, 22 magazines, 140 bladed weapons, a decoder, a hammer, two firearms (one 38 caliber Smith & Wesson and the other 380 caliber), a saw, 234 doses of marijuana, 17 bags with marijuana, 72 doses of crystal meth, 56 doses of cocaine, 60 psychotropic pills and 5 pipes were found.

  5. These inmate scumbags had more weed than my local dispensary. Every large prison in Mexico is like this. SSP does not need to do an investigation into how all this got into the prison. I will save them the time and money by just telling them. The prison guards smuggle all this stuff for the inmates. Very simple. The guards get a little kick back. My ex in Jalisco was a guard in the female section. The sad thing here is that everything that was confiscated will be replaced in about two weeks. In order to keep this prison clean they need to do a weekly inspection and terminate all current prison guards! Nuff Said!!!

    1. The guards? Those poor bastatds just make enough to pay their bills, is the director of the prison that's what they call the maximum authority of puente grande -el director if you didn't know now you know

    2. 4:10am I know who's the director. Let me explain how it works. It's like a pyramid dummy. The director allows all this to happen. All of the guards who do the actual smuggling give the director a weekly kick back. The director is not actually involved directly. He only shows up for about two to four hours a day. He stays in his office. The actual smugglers are the low paying guards. They deal directly with the inmate cartel members. The director gets his weekly pay and looks the other way. Get with the program idiot! Nuff Said!!!
