The intervention carried out in a clandestine grave located in the Lomas del Refugio neighborhood, in Zapopan, resulted in the location of 24 bodies.

The grave was intervened mainly by the search group Luz de Esperanza, who carried out intervention work together with state authorities.

The search was activated on December 13 and concluded on January 13. In total, 72 bags with human remains were recovered.

Due to the search efforts, one woman and five men were pre-identified who had been reported missing between 2021 and 2023.

The families of these victims have already been notified and are being provided with full psychosocial support by the Vice-Prosecutor's Office for Missing Persons.

Forensic Sciences personnel and the Jalisco Prosecutor's Office used drones with thermal cameras and ground-penetrating radars, as well as canine teams to intervene in the grave.
