Narco Banner and Sombreros Placed Next to Tortured Bodies near Mazatlan, Sinaloa

By "El Huaso" for Borderland Beat

The tortured and bound bodies of four men were found dumped next to a threatening narco banner in the town of El Walamo, south of Mazatlan, Sinaloa on Friday morning. A rancher style hat with the letters "MF" was placed on each body.
The lettered hats are a reference to rivals fighting for local drug lord Ismael Zambada Sicairos, 'El Mayito Flaco'. Gunmen fighting for Los Chapitos have placed these hats next to rival Mayito Flaco corpses several times over the last few months as conflict between both factions has flared in Sinaloa state.

The message translates as:

This will happen to all of those who exaggerate about information, recruiting people, and heating up the plaza for the MAYOS MF - CABRERA.

Both factions have acquired branding symbols which are worn by their members and frequently used in their narco communications. The Chapitos associate with a pizza, a symbol based off a nickname "Chapizza". As a result, pizza emojis are used on their social media posts, pizza patches are stitched on their hats and plate carriers, and their rivals will sometimes leave slices of pizza on the bodies of killed Chapitos gunmen.

On the other hand, the Mayos faction associate with the symbol of a rancher style sombrero, utilizing the branding in a similar manner.

Bodies left with hats in September 2024 in Culiacan, Sinaloa.

The message in this article is unsigned but is most likely left by the Chapos faction of the Sinaloa Cartel as a mockery of the Mayos brand.

  3. Chapitos and Mayos were once one unified cartel. I can understand the Ivan vs MF beef.
But were all these sicarios once friends now mortal enemies?

    1. i think it was already somewhat divided, some loyal to mayo some to ivan. different areas of control. there was already tension especially since culiacanazo 1.0, and then they kidnap mayo..

    2. That may be true but MF and Ivan are the ones who sign the checks

    3. Easy to understand, Mayos (Rey Zambada and El niño Zambada) snitched on chapo openly im court, what would you have done if "supposibly" your dads best friends betraided him? Than again they are Sinaloas and should already be used to tge snitching part

    4. I dunno… I remember Ivan tweeting years ago a pic of him and Mayito Gordito together as teens and it said something like “back when we were one”…

    6. 331 I guess, if that's how you wanna look at it. You're kinda putting a spotlight on yourself when you meet up with Kate del Castillo and Sean Penn to make a video for everyone to watch on YouTube. Not to mention pulling off a mile long tunnel yo escape the countries supposedly most secure prison, only to hideout out in the city instead of keeping your ass in the sierra. Chapo was destined to get caught, stand trial and face life in prison, with or without the help of Vicente and Rey... Just saying.

    7. 8:24 yes chapos ego was bigger than his patillas cortas, but there is no reason why your "compadres" should be testifying openly in court against you so they could get a shorter sentece, that been said, Sinaloas should already be accostumed to all that snitching, there is a reason why they are called the Snitching Cartel

It should be posted even more for the simple reason that those who believed he turned himself in gave the most outlandishly stupid, and I mean STUPID, reasons for it: he such a good a person he just wanted out; he longed, because he really cares, to see his son again; and, lastly, he's dying of a disease, aaahh, what a humble, blameless human. Nevermind the man himself said nothing of the sort, it wasn't reported so, and the groupies simply pulled the excuses out of their fat assess within seconds of his arrest, as if their miserable lives dependent on it, defending them as if they were unvoilable divine revelations.

  13. Let me get this straight. According to the narco banner left these guys got killed for gossiping and exaggerating on Chapitos information? They are now killing people who talk about them? If that is the case everyone here on BB needs to be careful. I want to see the total sale of pizzas and sombrero in Sinaloa for the past three months. This will definitely tell me who is winning the war. The one with more sales means more kills. Nuff Said!!!
