Five Corpses Left Near CSRL Narco Banner on Overpass near Salamanca, Guanajuato

The Cartel Santa Rosa de Lima (CSRL) left a narco banner threatening a rival criminal group next to five mutilated bodies at an overpass near Salamanca, Guanajuato.

The narco banner was discovered around 6:00 a.m. on February 8th by commuters, who called authorities. The narco banner and bodies were left at the same overpass where three corpses were found two weeks earlier.

The CSRL-signed banner intends to frame the ongoing turf war as a fight to rid the local community of a predatory force, the CJNG. In doing so, they aim to redefine what is in reality a turf war over the criminal economies into a vigilante fight in defense of the people. This is a consistent theme in propaganda employed by both the CSRL and their rivals the CJNG in Guanajuato.  

While the CJNG are not explicitly named in the banner, the CJNG are the CSRL's primary enemy in the region. The names "Barrón" and "El Kunda" are not mentioned online or in local press prior to this banner.

The translated message is as follows:

We continue the cleanup in Cárdenas and Mendoza and surrounding areas.

The fight is with them. The fight is not with the people, the fight is with the faggot Barrón and El Kunda who spend their time fucking over the people. All the people who support them are going to get fucked over, as well as the fucking government that goes around providing favors to those assholes, especially those from the prosecutor's office and MP here in Salamanca.

Continue with your bullshit and you too will get your beatdown so you can relax, you fucking sellouts, because then you go around crying and ganging up because you can't do anything alone. We make you piss yourselves. You've already seen how things are, we don't go around with bullshit. We're coming for you, Barrón and Kunda. If you have people, bring them out to fight why don't you.
