Live Thread: José Ángel Canobbio Inzunza 'El Güerito' Captured in Culiacan, Sinaloa

José Ángel Canobbio Inzunza 'El Güerito,' a principal member of the 'Los Chapitos' faction of the Sinaloa Cartel (CDS), was captured on February 19th during a joint operation by personnel of the Secretariat of National Defense and the National Guard with the involvement of the Navy, Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, and the Attorney General's Office in the Las Quintas community of Culiacán, Sinaloa.

(Arrest report by the National Detention Registry)

According to the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, security forces would follow the movements of Inzunza and in a coordinated effort would stop the criminal figure before confirming his identity and executing the arrest. During the operation authorities would seize firearms, tactical equipment, cash and an unknown illegal substance.

Inzunza is currently being transported by air to the facilities of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime in Mexico City, Mexico to undergo processing, no confirmation has been made regarding what charges he will face at the moment.

In a post made on X (formerly known as Twitter) Omar Hamid García Harfuch, the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection of Mexico, would state Inzunza handled logistics such as the planning of routes used to traffic fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine.

On January 10th, claims had circulated regarding Inzunza's alleged arrest by military personnel during an unspecified incident and active transfer to Mexico City on January 10th. Sometime later a communication published by the 'La Mayiza' faction would circulate through social media claiming Inzunza was being held in the “Gal. Ramón F. Iturbe” 9-A Military Camp in the Miguel Hidalgo community and allegedly failed to appear in the National Detention Registry as negotiations were underway.

(Communication published by La Mayiza discussing Inzunza's arrest)

A translation is as follows:

“This is what Harfurch comes for?

José Ángel Cannobio Inzunza is detained in the base near La Primavera of Culiacán, Sinaloa since a couple hours ago.

But no note or official registration has been [issued] of this, why? Easy…So he doesn’t commit before the press and can negotiate.

We raise our voices so this doesn’t occur again, we don’t want another release post capture like that of El Morral and other individuals that are captured in this war that blankets our [Sinaloan] entity.”

Although, the claims would be debunked during a press conference on January 11th where Verona Hernández Valenzuela, the spokesperson for the Secretariat of Public Security of Sinaloa, would deny the arrest of any principal target during the incidents in Zapotillo, Mocorito, or Limón de los Ramos the day prior.

On November 7th, 2024 Inzunza would be indicted by a federal grand jury in Chicago, United States on the charges of conspiracy to manufacture and distribute controlled substances for unlawful importation into the U.S, and the importation of controlled substances. The indictment would also classify Inzunza, head of the 'Los Chimales' cell, as the Lieutenant, Principal Advisor, and a Head of Security for Los Chapitos.

We'll keep you updated on the situation as it develops.

    6. They are all expendable, the cartel will still be around no matter who gets knocked down. Remember all the cartels pay someone above them like corrupt officials. If you want to get rid of the cartels, u have to get rid of drug users and corrupt officials. This is the same in any place on earth.

Even people in the DEA and FBI have said that some of these narcos ingenuity was so good that if they had the opportunity and had taken a legitimate route they would have been successful business men. So it seems the shit for brains is you.

  33. What makes me wonder, Is it the heat due to the fight between chapitos and mayos that makes mex. Gob doing something or is it more the pressure from the US and the fear of SOF being send south on catch or kill missions.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Maybe evidence of corruption by mexican politicians and law enforcement via spying and maybe compliments of mayo z being held over their heads . Maybe moreso than tariff threats. I wonder if their both kicking themselves in the ass , mayo for trusting them and chapitos for turning their protector in. I bet they would all love a do over, right now they could be turning in their underlings now and also killing their underlings for doing the same thing their doing. Viva mexico, hopefully the mexicans will take back their beloved mexico.

    2. yeah heat from the fighting but also both sides will be trying to sic the authorities on the other.

    3. US Govt just has to offer "aid" to Mexican politicians and they'll turn in these guys.

      Delete
    4. 7:21, this is not what happens. I am very sure many mexican politicians are really concerned about mayo being in US custody. He paid half the political class for half century, many have their money in the US or bought stuff there and this will all be gone. Not visiting the US, paying attention when flying and having bank accounts over there is a huge problem for them.

    2. Peoples people and being a certain race color or nationality don't determine what you're going to be, you do. There's a lot of mexican and hispanic business owners and growing everyday. It's harder to get a foothold when you're competing against established businesses that are buying bulk and selling retail or doing large volumes of business in which corporations have a pretty much monopoly on big projects and sells of goods. They have put a dent in american businesses as far as the little man getting the high dollar contracts.

      Delete
    3. Laborers or not, Mexicans are the HARDEST working and FAMILY oriented race in the fucking world. Tell me how many bums you see on the streets and how many are real Mexicans? Very few when compared to other races. Brains? Shiiiiiit… look how the cartels operate, that’s a lot of money for little brains don’t you think you ignorant racist fuck. You’re probably someone behind a monitor all day just playing with your ding a ling hating the word because your mommy doesn’t love you nonetheless your daddy, so you hate on the world because you wish you were loved. And, most Mexicans are actually bilingual, we adapt to every fucking environment. Truth be told, we hate our own race, especially when they’re dumb like you.

    2. Sinaloa is not a big state, and everyone knows everyone. Families are very well connected and many share similar names since they marry into each other’s families, and that’s how the last names grow. Similar to any other small country and/or state.
