The US confirms it revoked visas for members of Los Alegres del Barranco after Mencho's image was shown at concerts In Jalisco.

Christopher Landau, US Undersecretary of State, condemned the "glorification" of El Mencho, leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), and confirmed the revocation of visas for members of Los Alegres del Barranco following their two concerts in which images of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes were projected.

In a message on his X account, Landau shared a video of the event and noted that, although he "firmly believes in freedom of expression, that does not mean it should be exempt from consequences. The Mexican group Los Alegres del Barranco disseminated images glorifying the drug trafficker 'El Mencho'—leader of the bloody CJNG cartel—at a recent concert in Mexico."

The US official also emphasized that the Trump administration takes its responsibility to regulate foreign access to its territory very seriously, stating that "the State Department has revoked the work and tourist visas of the group's members." "We're not going to roll out the red carpet for those who glorify criminals and terrorists," he added.

To date, the members of the norteño group from San José del Barranco, Badiraguato, have not issued an official statement on the matter.

    5. They won't get their visas back. Their music sucks anyway. These idiots can stay in Mexico and earn the very low weak peso in half empty stadiums. The only way to get access to the U.S is to start making songs idolizing Trump. Nuff Said!!!

Freedom of speech does not apply since, first, it occurred in another country, and, second, the freedom was not infringed. Only the ability to travel was infringed.

  17. This is the repercussion of tik tok blowing up this song and making it their most popular to the point they created a slideshow every time they play it at concerts. On a serious note it was in bad taste to flash images of the cjng leader weeks after discovering the atrocities they committed. I don’t know up to what aspect El Mencho maintains and regulates his organization but they have no regard for human life. One thing is capitalizing on the contraband of narcotics and another is exploiting and killing innocent civilians daily. And all the Mexican organizations are guilty of this. That being said Los Alegres are one of my favorite musical groups of all time regardless of genre

    2. I beg to differ 10:23 , yes all criminal organizations have killed or harmed innocent civilians .. however you have had organizations that deliberately PREY on innocent civilians and make that either part of their portfolio if not their main revenue of cash flow . Zetas, CDN, every faction of the Golfos, Jaliscas, tenplarios, familia michoacana, and Los viagras are all organizations that practically live and thrive off of the innocent non-involved civilians. CDS, AFO, Juarez, and BLO are more about pushing weight and leaving the innocents alone. I have traveled to Sonora, TJ, Chihuahua, Durango and Sinaloa without worry of being extorted like I have been in Nvo Laredo and witnessed it first hand down in Michoacán. I will say that in Parral Chihuahua we were stopped once and briefly interrogated by whom we believe as CDS. After going through our phones and vehicle we were released without issue.

  29. Ha. Just yesterday el Mencho's group has been taken down by the a Mexican armed forces in Michoacan. They killed 5 or maybe 6 cjng members. A Blackhawk blasted those scums. They arrested 10 in Morelia the day before yesterday. After that airstrike, there was another confrontation. The state police killed 1. Yeah some idol these narcocorridos are singing how real they are. If Mencho really wants to be killed by the army. Why doesn't he confront them. According to the songs. They'll be taken down like a badass.
